Video: What is Nintendo Network?

Answer? I have no idea.

There are a few ways you can subscribe to these videos:

  • YouTube – The easiest and quickest way to see the new videos.
  • iTunes – Download the videos to your computer or mobile device.
  • RSS – This has the advantages of iTunes, but the added benefit of not having to use iTunes.

      Just to let everyone know, when you go online on mario kart 7, it says ‘connecting to Nintendo Network’

      @sam3ds: Yup, that’s true, it says in European Mario Kart 7… but I don’t understand one thing. Whi didn’t Nintendo put ‘that’ ‘Nintendo Network’ on the Mario Kart 7 box art?

      mabey they just didnt make the logo yet, or the logo might be for 3rd parties.

      Perhaps they hadn’t created the concept at the time. Obviously Mario Kart 7 had online but perhaps Nintendo Network will be the logo they’ll use to show that certain games will, in fact, have DLC content soon.

      Or perhaps they really are changing things and this’ll be the way data can be shared between the 3DS and the Wii U.

    I would like to see some more direct version of communication with friends online. Swapnote is great, but just typing out some message to friends does seem easier sometimes, especially when you want to do something online together.

    I’m being completely serious, THIS GUY MADE A PORTABLE GAMECUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBf4Cyfv-EI&feature=related He plays SmashBros. Melee on it and I think it’s a good way to see how Smash Bros. can look on a handheld :)

    If you play Mario Kart 7 Online Multiplayer it says “Connecting to Nintendo Network”, so it is the online service for 3DS.

    I hope Nintendo Network is like XBL or PSN so I can make 1 username and use it to get achievements and awards by playing games! I also hope there will be a suspend app that you can chat with friends. That would definitely SMELL LIKE CHERRIES!!!

      I’m pretty sure there was an article about The Conduit back when this blog first started. I think it mentioned that the guys behind The Conduit were able to port the first game to the 3DS without any trouble so they might make another one just for the 3DS.

    Considering Mario Kart uses Nintendo Network, I doubt it, but if so I will not own another Nintendo device again and throw my old ones in the trash and love Sony forever.

    Does anyone think that this is Nintendo’s online service for the Wii U? The Wii U comes out this year and Nintendo did say that they will have a very sophisticated online service. Maybe they are rebranding their service for the so that it could coincide with the Wii U.
