Nintendo in Europe has released an update for Super Mario Bros. from the Ambassador Program. The update adds Restore Points and a new icon for the home menu. Check out the “Titles You’ve Downloaded” section in the eShop to get your update. You can click here to read a complete list of features.
It’s coming this thursday for NA, I think.
I hope soo
Oh yes please!! I hope so!! Nintendo start releasing ambassador games on the eshop. Dont punish us any longer!
@Andrew, lawl. where have you been? they released months ago, all of them. Updates for the NES ones are the ones that are being reported about. :o
@Dae I think Andrew is one of those who wasn’t an Ambassador but has been waiting for the NES games.
Aww, but that’s no fun. :c
How u do dat boi? Ima troll… :(
Now if only they had an update for gameboy advanced games to be in sleep mode
GBA games do go into a sleep mode, just not the 3DS sleep mode- it’s the same with DS games. If you close the 3DS, the screen will shut off and the sound will stop, but the power will not be saved as efficiently as it is in 3DS sleep mode, and you won’t get street passes/spot passes.
@Ty besides the power being drained faster and the streetpass not working when you close the 3ds with a gba game the game still goes on you can verify this with a game that keeps track of play time or in metroid where if you are in a boss fight and close the system you’ll prolly die.
Dare I do it?
Yep.
+1
Well, yeah. Unless you pause it. But it’s the same with DS games (or most of them). In the non 3DS sleep mode power is saved compared to just leaving the 3DS lying open, but not as much as 3DS sleep mode.
GBA games didn’t have a sleep mode except for a few games (I know there’s a sleep mode feature in Metroid Fusion’s pause menu), so it would only make sense for them to not have it at first either for us Ambassadors. They’re rushed ports, which is why the NES titles are being updated as they’re released.
@Ty, all the DS games I have played go into Sleep Mode, I just can’t turn Wireless Back On if I turned it off and I can’t StreetPass/SpotPass.
Yeah. DS sleep mode and GBA sleep mode are pretty much the same- and they’re both different than 3DS sleep mode. But, GBA software doesn’t pause in sleep mode, and some DS software doesn’t either. So, if you leave it paused, then it will still continue to count gameplay time. Also, they aren’t ports. They’re ROMs that run in an emulator (which causes a few issues in some games- Minish Cap has a few minor audio issues). It’s the Emulator that needs work.
Guys, if you put some game (SMA3 and Metroid) into their own sleep mode, the 3DS will be able to go on sleep mode.
Even if this updated becomes available everywhere, I’m still gonna play it hard-core old-school style. B)
Same. (For Balloon Fight too)
I’d also want them to add multiplayer for kirby. That would be amazing.
oh, i thought it was saying this game has been available to buy from non-ambassador people. well, i should expect that soon anyway.
Restore points? well now I might be able to beat some of those NES games, I’ll admit it, I suck…
You’re not alone dude…
i got the super mario 2 nes lost worlds on the wii, that was japan only. its freaking hard, no freaking joke.
Its funny how much more difficult NES games were then the games we play today ^.^
I was thinking the same thing. The Mario games that come out now are a cakewalk compared to the originals!
What about North America?!
I’m not one to point out the obvious or deny the fact that it probably will come over eventually, but~….
As you know of recent: Japan gets it, announced for Europe/other regions, announced for America.
As will happen this year: America gets it, announced for Europe/other regions, announced for Japan.
It’s possible and WILL happen in the near future!!! ;)
I’d say we get it after a few months like always.
no update in NA, I think
Cool. Now make Mario Kart multiplayer.
Am I the only one who’s only excited for the new ICON!?!
The highlight banner (when you highlight the game) looks way better now, instead of a square with the title screen on it’s a NES system and a TV :D And the new Icon thingie is that you can make a save-state anywhere in-game and load it anywhere in-game :) there are updates for all NES games, but it only changed Super Mario Bros. don’t know why though..
Lol, you’re not alone :D @Pontus G: that sounds awesome! :3
What about simutaneous multiplayer?!?!
ALL NES GAMES IN ESHOP UPDATED.
Cool! but not only Super Mario Bros. its all the games updated!
yeah but other games haven’t got new icons
Anyone checked the NA eshop yet?
yes! the update is there!
Yeah, no updates for North America yet, I’m thinking maybe thursday when the eShop updates?
??? I’ll check again, but I swear there was no update for any of my NES games
(Checking…)
Nope…
i had to do a system update before that THEN check
I DEFINITELY just downloaded the update in NA. There are also updates for 3D Classics: Excitebike, Green Lantern Trailer, and Ambassador Certificate, but I don’t know what those updates do.
