The mystery project from SEGA, Capcom, and Namco Bandai is Project X Zone?

Namco Bandai has filed two trademarks: All Star Battle and Project X Zone. It’s expected, then, that one of these trademarks is the name of the mystery project that’s being worked on by SEGA, Capcom, and Namco Bandai, there’s a good chance it’s the latter name. Project X Zone. Why?

You only have to look at the URL of the mystery project’s website: pxz.channel.or.jp. The “pxz” is right there as the sub-domain and acts as an acronym for Project X Zone.

Considering the similar naming structure to Street Fighter X Tekken, and the large amount of characters we can expect, it probably is a fighting game, but we’ll have to wait and see when the countdown ends.

I was hoping that this would be Mega Man Legends 3 Uncancel.

But there then again we are still waiting fir Rodea the Sky Soldier, because of Western Publication, which still hasn’t happen yet, and this game has been 100% finish in development since July 2K11.

But MML3 is only 29% developed.

I just hope we some day get Mega Man Legends 3.

It was gonna be my first Mega Man game, and a game like that would have only look too cool in 3D.

But the 3DS does always seem to be getting games that the PS3 would have normally got, like King of Pirates & Monster Hunter 4 & Mega Man Legends 3 (before it was cancel) & Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance & Heroes of Ruin & Bravely Default: Flying Fairy & etc.

But if these games came out on the PS3, they would have just been ported to both the X Box 360 & PC anyways.

So thank goodness these games are coming out in the 3DS instead, so that way we can finally have 3rd party games that don’t get ported to PC, nor any other system for that matter.

Master Link, the developers working on this game have stated that the final product would be something unexpected. Considering a fighting game is the first thing that comes to anybody’s mind, I find a 23% chance that this game will end up being a fighting game.

Then again, taking what “ninty” below has pointed out, it is actually looking like it’s gonna be a fighting one. Wow, I really hope it’s like Smash Bros. And with the quality these guys churn out, it actually might be a good substitute (if the style remains).

The ad campaign system they are using fundamentally implies that it is not a fighting game. Unless the marketing manager is terrible at his job, this will not be a fighting game.

See, the vagueness and secrecy is used to imply significant depth. They wave the safe and the chromosome in front of us, teasing, as if to say “This is important. Remember this.” Why should we? Because it’s relevant to a plot- they are symbols, and symbolism is used significantly, like that, in deep storytelling.

Thing about fighting games, though, is they don’t really focus on the plot- that’s their whole appeal. It sends you right into the action of the story. The focus is on the gameplay, not the story.

Since the focus of the ads is on the implied story of the game, my conclusion is that it is not a fighting game.

Of course, it hasn’t even been revealed yet, so we’ll have to wait and see for sure.

Cross-over RPG will never work very and will be overlooked by the fans of every franchise because it will be non-canon, while a fighting game is more fun and will be more remember able than an RPG, do you remember the failure NamcoxCapcom ? I never heard of it until recently because it’s a freaking niche, while I played every single fighting game made by Capcom….

Epic Mickey 2: the power of two is indeed coming to the old Wii! So that’ll be some good news to post.

However, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Illusion’s sprites are not hand drawn… It’s a carbon copy of the Genesis original with added drawing gameplay on the bottom screen…

Maybe it will release somewhere from $20 to $30, like Shift & Crush 3D & Comic Book games on the 3DS & Rayman Origins.

So let’s just wait before we jig what the price will be, because there are more 3DS games release at $20 to $30 this year then there are $40.

And the fact the Capcom release Resident Evil: Revelations (4 GB) at $40, shows that there is just as huge of a profit of releasing a 2 GB 3DS Cartridge for $20.

I kind of doubt it going to be localized because Banpresto is involved, but it doesn’t mean it won’t. They localized some of their games, it just have to acquire a lot of fan-base, and sense its a collaboration with 3 famous company it wont be that hard to catch every body eyes. I just hope the game suits a lot of peoples liking so they see that its fine to localize it.

I don’t care if it may be a fighter, I mean if still most of my 3DS collection was fighters which at one point it was I’d be saying no. But I have more titles now and I would like to see a new Fighter title that out beats Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. Another thing, I better see characters I know and love, I’ve been looking at the site and I didn’t see much I could probably recognize. If you go to the site, at the top right there is a logo. “BanPresto” I did some research and found that they are a toy making company. Maybe someone could do a more in depth research?

Yes, Banpresto is a toy making company, but they also make a lot of Japan only video games as well. I read that they are also owned by Namco Bandai, so maybe thats why their on the website with them.
(I got my information on wikipedia) I Know some info can be false but it seems legit to me. I saw their listing of games they made on GamFAQs website and around the end of 2008 their games have been published by Namco Bandai, and a lot of their games are japan only. Its seems that when their game does come to the U.S. it wont have a Banpresto logo but instead a Namco Bandai to replace it.

The game should be divided into 3 parts.

1. You play as a US pilot looking for a lost airship that has documents the government wants. But a group of terrorists also want the documents. This part would be an arcade/sim flight action.

2. You find and board the airship. You find out it’s abandoned. You start searching for the documents. You then discover the crew has turned into zombies, and you have limited ammo. This part would be survival horror.

3. You come across a locked door that you can’t get by. However, you notice a vent above. You can’t fit in it, but the government-trained hedgehog you brought along can. You take control of the hedgehog. You get to the other side and start looking for the documents. You have to go very fast, though because you owner has limited ammo to fend of the US pilot. This would be a 3D platformer.

I’d buy that.

Someone was actually able to re-arrange the chromosomes and match them with other video game characters. Only one chromosome hasn’t been matched up with someone on the Sega side (bottom pair)

Interesting, a vast majority of these characters have either a gun or a sword. If these ARE indeed correct perhaps it could give us a hint as to what the game is about.

As far as I know a load of gun totting heroes isn’t very well accepted in a fighting video game. Maybe we’ll be seeing something different this time around?

Capcom’s really the only relevant one. And I for one don’t feel too excited for what will most likely be just another opportunity for them to f*** us.

To be fair every single button on SSFIV: 3D is an attack button. Holding the thumb pad back is the only block button.

Unless you customize the buttons to be all blocks, but then how will you win?

I may be wrong, but I believe @Ben Graham was talking about spamming the same move and that’s it, considering he said “The attack button” instead of “An attack button”. Yes, every button (By default) in the game is an attack. But each button has its own variety of attacks, with more available as the joystick/circle pad is moved in certain directions as a button or two is pressed.
