      I could agree with all of those, but baby Daisy is an outlier to me because she only debuted in Mario Kart Wii. :\

      Maybe Nintendo should finally give some roles to some of the spinoff characters. ie Waluigi, Baby Daisy, etc… Super Wario Bros. FTW

      No. All “new” characters in that game belong to Square. I meant the Mario & Luigi (Known as Super Mario RPG in Japan) and Paper Mario series.

      ^I kinda figured as much, but I always think of the first Mario RPG out of any of them. That would be cool, but only characters that debut in the main Mario titles seem to enter the spin offs (excluding characters from other series like Funky Kong etc…). If they decided to change their mind, it would be cool to see someone other than a generic toad, koopa, or goomba. Then possibly add in the strange ones like Watt, Vivian, and Flurrie.

      Maybe instead of it being relevent to impotance/story they were thinking of gender purposes? Mario Tennis isn’t a main title after all.

      Baby luigi first appeared in the spin-off world before baby peach, also he does in mario & luigi PIT (RPG), and you can play with 100 female characters thanks to the miis, there’s no excuses….well…I can play with a baby luigi mii…..

    Baby Mario isn’t new he was in the N64 game

    I was hoping Nintendo and Camelot would put Pauline in the game so she can make her spin off Debut. I guess its time to start hoping that she debuts in the next spin off (most likely Mario Kart Wii U) Pauline has become a regular in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series.

    This all makes sense!!! The reason why luma was not hangin with Rosalina on MK7 was he was off doing motion capture for his role in Mario Tennis Open!

      I’d say MP8 is my least favorite the motion control was nice but you can’t beat button precision! I didn’t like it’s theme too much either…

      I will say MP7 is one of my favorites because even if it was meant for eight players (and we never had that many playing) we could abuse the ability to have two characters at once, which was Tubular.

      I like the minigames in MP 9…..but I HATE the maps/boards and the way they are traversed.

      and Mario Party 9 is pretty cool :] especially the minigames and the boss battles!!!

    You can download Blue Yoshi and more characters through QR codes

      i know, your absolutely right @Oh… Nintendo will be sending out special QR codes with new characters, check Nintendo of Japan’s official Mario Tennis Open website. It lists 7 boxes, one with blue yoshi, and the other 6 with questionmarks. Who knows how we’ll get the QR codes…

    There’s only 16 there, but in the trailer they say ’16 characters and more to unlock’

    I thought that meant there was gonna be more than 16 characters. XD

      We are not sure exactly what it means but, the japanese mario tennis open website says that there are characters besides in the list above, that you can unlock via qr codes. They have already confirmed that blue yoshi will be one of them.

      @Ninty, If they have someone as obscure as a Blue Yoshi, then they’d better have Baby Weegee. Writing this just gave me a cool thought; wouldn’t a Baby Wario and Waliuigi be badass?

      The latest DBZ game, DBZ Ultimate Tenkaichi only had like 25 characters.

      Also, the DBZ games have over 20+ characters because of the story mode that requires them.

    Guys I got news the QR characters will be colors of characters so they already said it will be blue yoshi, and light blue yoshi. When I got word of this part of my heart plunged to darkness I was hoping for people like Koopa, Shy Guy, Rosalina, and Birdo and Toadette but its just going to be colors but Imma still buy the game I still love it :D
