Yea have fun watching it on the 3DS >_> it’s like screen-ception.

  • castle

Amazing I relly looking forward to this game. Cant wait and I hope this game relase this fall in eur. CV is my favorite series.

  • the psvita is better

although i like the game and i am gonna pick it up, i cant help, but feel this is not a real castlevania. i mean it is, but it doesnt exactly feel like one

  • Greg

It looks ok, But I dont think it will be as good as the 3 dimensional sprite based CV for 3DS that I imagined. The move away from sprites (much like the psp castlevania) reduces the feeling of the game. It doesnt feel like there is as much precision when playing a poly based CV vs a sprite based CV. I will be getting this one, but my butt hurts because of the design choice. I am butt hurt.

Well, its not a sequel to the DS castlevania’s, its a sequel to the PS3/360 game, it has no relation to the DS games at all, and preferable, for me anyway, I’d prefer this kind of direction, its not fully 3D, only 2.5D.

I liked the castlevania DS games, but LoS is better by far to me anyway, just because I prefer the 3D environments and excellent character models, it allows for alot more stuff to actually happen then the basic 2D DS games.

The main is this, lets I have to fight a giant boss, I have to climb all around it looking for its weak spots, like SotC, my problem with the 2D games is that I don’t get the same kind of feeling like I’m actually on the monster, looking for its weak spots, just jump on this platform and that one and attack its head(or hands).

Thats my whole reason anyway, its just what I think.

This game should be created with style like Capcom’s Ghost Trick: 2D side scroller with motion-captured characters.

Anyway, this full 3D graphics is cool too.

    • Greg

well RIVER, we can agree to disagree. Im not saying its a sequel to the DS castlevanias. I was just stating that its CASTLEVANIA. For me, in my mind, castlevania has always been synonymous with fast paced sprite based action, precision, amazing music, crazy enemies (each with a back story relating to some sort of mythology) etc. And while im not against evolution completely, I still wished a CV something along those lines would get the 3ds treatment. That wish was one of the reasons I got the system in the first place.

Im a bit of a freak when it comes to the series i guess.

    • Greg

And yeah, ill still be first in line to get this and check it out.

Holy crap. This is just amazing… I can’t wait!

  • royspaceghost

The only thing that actually got me hyped about on E3

  • S.T.K.

any one remember the CV’s on the GBA they where some of the best IMO

  • Captsu Ichicon

Oh shit ALUCARD! I hope he retains the look he had in symphony of the night or his moves or the little onion skin he had while running and moving.

  • Egghollo

I didn’t like the DS ones AT ALL but this looks kinda different and more fun.

Son, there is something medically wrong with you. Didn’t like the DS ones at all, you need to see a doctor about that.

Not enthused by this at all. The combat looks pretty damn lacking, and I’m not a fan of the basic 3d instead of sprites. Konami needs to stop its outsourcing… It’s been sad to see the company, all they’ve really got going for them still is Kojima Productions.

    • su

      Konami DOES NEED ITS OUTSOURCING.
The 2d Castlevania for ds did not even reached 400.000. units sold. While Lords of Shadows Sold nearly 1.2 million copies. -.-
Castlevania does need to be recicled and Lords of Shadows is the best way to it Whether you like it or not

Order of Ecclesia sold just 300,000 copies world wide, diminished returns after 2006’s Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (340,000 copies) and 2005’s Dawn of Sorrow (360,000 copies.)

Yeah, but LoS also actually got publicity. Did they even advertise the 3 DS games (outside of the NP focused magazines)? I remember there being plenty of ads for LoS, I can’t recall even one for any of the DS ones, let alone GBA trio. I swear, third parties seem to think that games on Nintendo consoles advertise themselves because not a damn one of them puts any advertising back behind any of their projects.

They really need to advertise, a whole bunch.

  • matrixhadokenmaster

I’ve been following this blog everyday for a year now, well ever since I bought my 3ds last march. Castlevania has been my favorite series ever since symphony of the night on the ps1. I’ve played the n64 cv, both the ps2 versions, the ones for the ds, and most recently lords of shadow. Maybe I’m biased but sotn was by far the best cv ever! Call me a fanboy, I am. What makes me nervous about lords of shadow 2 (mirror of fate) is that los appeals to the popular masses, similar to call of duty. Which is great that los sold over a million copies, but thats not what memories are made of. I don’t want a mind numbing cv experience, I want the cv of old. Clever level design, orchestrated music, beautiful artwork, and action rpg elements; these items make up a great experience. I just don’t want this new game to be a button masher with button sequences like los, re, or gears of war. Where is the skill that? Metroid never needed that, neither does castlevania.
