david, quit hating on the vita. You’re making me sad. I love both consoles :(

    • David

But it’s the direct-competitor to the 3DS. To give people a sense of how well the 3DS is doing, it’s the only device I can compare it too. I’d do the same thing if the Vita was outselling the 3DS. It is simply for comparative purposes.

    • ygor leal

yes its not david´s fault if the vita is not selling well

    • ZimmerRemmiz

He said nothing negative about the Vita, all he did was state fact, which correlates with why I’m waiting for the system, no sales in Japan=no Japanese games = I don’t give a damn…

    • Matthew

I agree the Vita is amazing. I understand why the sales are low though. It’s obviously the price of the memory sticks.

    • MM-Royalninja

@ David .Hey Dave can you make a friend code exchange or some thing like being able to sign in and out and have acount’s so peaple can see eachothers friend codes and games we have? It would make it easy to make the blog more social and help people that need friends on ther list! And It would be great if you could search a little more of the new zelda game !Thanks.

    • Cecil 64

      @Brett
      “your making me sad”
      Lol.just STFU XD

    • kamkid

@MM-Royalninja; no sarcasm, great idea. However if he were to do such a thing, he should probably make a different site. My mind is racing with the possibilities, including a 3ds version of the site, or maybe a mobile app, to help fill in the holes in the 3ds’s online gaming system. I could go on and on.

    • kamkid

^ + i realize that request seem similar to 3ds forms, but i picture something more… streamlined, and just for the use of finding friend codes and setting up games online, maybe even to chat during games if possible. To give the 3ds the online system it doesn’t have, as it were. I would certainly go to such a website/ download such an app. Hell, I would probably try to make one if i knew where to start.

    • revolution5268

what would happen if there a Xbox portable?

    • Andrew

revolution stupidest question they have no plans for handhelds and we should not speculate it would be better

  • Rick

Who are hating anything? (I’m :D PSV sucks…) Why someone buy it to play the same games that PS3? What’s better, have fun or just see good graphics?

    • RIVER

The same games on the go?

Okay, listen, there is truth in “Graphics don’t make a good game” but graphics help, they appeal to the eye, the visual style, also, it helps for the developers to push better graphics because it helps them to be better with art, character design, and environments.

So what is someone wants to have a portable PS3?
If they want PS3 graphics on a portable console, then there’s the PSV for them to buy.

But the main reason why it isn’t selling is because it doesn’t have any games, that’s the obvious reason, it isn’t “Because it SUCKS ASS” “WHAT KIND OF IDIOT WOULD BUY A MINI PS3?” those are immature reasons, the system has potential, it hasn’t seen it yet though, that’s why it isn’t selling

    • Paul

      I take it you don’t have a vita….
Anyone who does can tell you that they’re awesome and DOES have good games.

    • Zeem

No doubt that graphics are deceiving, though. Ridge Racer on the Vita might be shiny but dear god it falls short as a game.

    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvJpiCjVrw0 Gee, it sure is boring around here. I just wonder what Ganon’s up to! (after Gwonam informs the king Ganon seized koridai) Great! I’ll grab my stuff! (Squadala! We’re off!) Wow. What are all those heads?(These are the faces of evil. You must conquer each)

The games aren’t the same as the PS3, but if they were, who wouldn’t want a portable PS3? And “what’s better to have fun or see graphics” lolwut. You make it sound like you’ve played every PS3 game that ever existed and think they are all boring.

    • the psvita is better

      how about both
i am sure you would rather have a good game with good graphics than the same game with bad graphics
besides psvita games are not fun because of how they look, its because of how they play and what they have to offer

    • Matt

We all know that a game doesn’t have to have great graphics to be fun.
However, at the same time graphics can add a hell of a lot to how much you enjoy your gaming experience. For example, I wouldn’t have enjoyed Fallout 3 NEARLY as much if it were made for the N64. Half of Fallout 3 was all about absorbing you into this alien world, and it couldn’t have done so without the beautiful environments.

    • Pixelknot93

Ignorance is all I see in this post.

  • thatguyoverthere

Sheesh, KH3D really took a hit in sales. Not really surprising since it’s hard for people to get into this franchise. Hopefully it fares better when it’s released internationally.

    • ZimmerRemmiz

It was still the second best selling game, and everyone that wanted it bought it at launch…

    • RIVER

I’m more worried about Kid icarus there.

Yea sure, KH might be a tad more important, nonetheless, the series always sells well.

    • Zeem

Yeah, the vast majority of KH fans will have bought KH3D on launch.

  • http://thegreatestwebsiteinhistory.wordpress.com/ Forgael

I remember all the Vita fanboys’ incessant gloating. So, where are we months into the availability of both systems? 63,796 versus 8,250. HA FRICKETY HA.

    • revolution5268

yeah its funny that vita is selling bad and the fan boys or drones will say it will outsell 3ds sales like in months.
I don’t care if you guys like the vita because there drone like to talk crap on us and there vita is selling bad, pitiful.

    • Matt

Fanboys are terrible on both sides.
It’s not important which sells better, it’s important that they both sell well so they both have better games.

    • Pixelknot93

      Absolutely agree, Matt.

  • Zuzo

How does a PSP game sell more then a PSV one? Wait….

There ain’t even a PSV game on that top 20 list. WTF?

    • Matt

That’s simply because there aren’t any really good PSV games out right now. Just wait for Gravity Rush.

    • Resolute

      @Matt
…Except this is a sales list for Japan, and Gravity Rush already came out quite a while ago.

    • Resolute

*came out quite a while ago in Japan.

    • Devinal215

More people have a psp than the vita meaning more buying

    • Matt

Gravity Daze came out in February. Gravity Rush is yet to be released. My terminology was correct.

    • Resolute

Yes, but this was a reply to why there wasn’t a Vita game in the top 20 list in Japan, was it not?

    • Matt

      Yep.

  • Conan

I hope the Wii U will do this good.

  • Paul

The PSVita and 3ds are equally good to me, enough of the pointless fanboy wars.

    • Moufasa

      That I agree with you.

    • revolution5268

agree but Sony fan boys will never say that or even admit.

    • Matt

      Neither will Nintendo fanboys.

    • the psvita is better

      yeah dude
dont act like nintendo fanboys havent been bashing the vita now

    • revolution5268

true but keep in mind that most of Sony fans will go to another dimension to let the vita win. also history keeps repeating, the weaker consoles always win, always about the games, not hardware.

    • the psvita is better

not really i mean the wii is good, but the ones that normally got more games where the xbox 360 and the ps3 even though they were being outsold
the wii had a good library, but because of bad third party support is that we had so many dry years like 2008, 2011 and 2012
so is not always about games.

  • knightboy

Hey guys Im debating on what eshop title I should get. I got Mutant Mudds, Freakyforms, Dillon’s Rolling Western, and Sakara Samurai. What should I get? I got $14 dollars left, so I was thinking of that new puzzle game or pushmo. Then saving the rest for later. What do you guys think?

    • Matt

I would eliminate Rolling Western. That game is terrible. Mutant Mudds and Sakura Samurai are both alright.

    • SonicandMario

You should get Pushmo. You seem to have most of the other good eShop titles. Then save the rest for later.

    • uriel

not freaky forms ….dissappointed get sakurai

    • uriel

      get pushmo!

    • the psvita is better

      those are all fun games
but this is how i see it
-dillon rolling western is like a rollercoaster, its good then it turns boring and finally good again
-freakyforms is fun and you can get really creative, but you might get bored of doing the same sidequests
-sakura samurai is ultra awesome, only bad thing are graphics i guess
-mutant mudds is awesome and a nice platformer, but it is 10 dollars, i am not saying it is not worth it, but you might think is a little to pricey
      -pushmo is a must have

    • knightboy

Sorry guys I guess I didn’t make things clear. I already have all those mutant mudds etc. I’m questioning if I should get pushmo or ketelz’s corodoors (how ever you spell it) and then save the rest lol

    • Aceeeeeee**

Yeah get pushmo (6.99) and maybe stock up some more for ketzal´s corridors.

    • the psvita is better

      ketzal corridor
      that game is addicting

    • uhga buga

      lol learn to read ppl

      get pushmo or ketzal corridors.

i’d also reccomend colors 3d pretty cool app to have

    • Keaton

i have all those games. DO NOT get freaky forms. way over priced. it’s not fun, its annoying, there’s literally nothing to do but doing favors for your other creations

Dillons wild western is over priced as well. its a bit fun but irritating. but you have to play it for a while to begin to get interested. oh. its a bad game to get if you’re left handed but i just use my right and tough it out

Sakura samurai is the Best 3d game IMO
great price and good gameplay with decent 3 dimensional graphics

i’ll also recommend Pusho if you like puzzles

    • MarioMaster 7

There’s only one person in my school that plays has a ps vita. He sold most of his games and probably still didn’t get that chip.

    • Matt

I hope you’ve confirmed that claim by personally asking everyone in your school (the only way to truthfully state what you’ve just said) and are not just being the worst type of sentient being on the planet – a fanboy. DUM DUM DUUUUM….

    • MarioMaster 7

For your information I asked everyone in my grade. None of them owns a portable handheld. Me and my other friend are the only ones that own a handheld in my grade. And he owns a ps vita. Don’t try to be smart. DERP DERP DERRP….

    • MarioMaster 7

@mattWell you could at least said @3dsrules for I do appologise to you. Its just a case of mistakend identity no big deal. iAgree with your comment towards 3ds rules
p.s how am I looking like an immature brat

  • MarioMaster 7

I hope its selling extremily well in America to because I’m like the only one that owns a 3DS and use nintendo devices in my school.

  • MarioMaster 7

Its not hating if its true. Just saying

  • MarioMaster 7

Its not hating if its true. Just saying.

  • lizzie1238

I don’t understand why people are still buying the dsi and dsi xl. Why not pay a little extra from the dsi for a 3DS. And get a 3DS for the same price as a dsi xl!

    • the psvita is better

no need to pay extra money, an xl has the same price as a 3ds, i dont know about a dsi though

    • Matt

The average consumer is very confused about this whole thing called “backwards compatibility”.

  • Maher

Pokemon + Nobunga’s Ambition (Pokemon Conquest) is for the DS it can be played in 2D on the 3DS

  • Sothe

    people still buy ps2s!?!?

    • Matt

      Sony still manufactures ps2s! lol
      The thing still sells well!

  • Perry

You know, I tried to play a vita at the store twice but i didn’t have the patience to wait for it to load. And the graphics aren’t that much better than the 3DS. They are fantastic, but not like leaps and bounds better….

I really do hope the vita starts selling though…. I’m sick of Nintendo dominating. I want real competition!

    • revolution5268

really thats sad you sony fan.

    • the psvita is better

as much as i like the 3ds, you have to be kidding about the graphics part
i know the 3ds has awesome graphics, but seriously uncharted alone has better graphics than any 3ds game will ever have( actually not better, but more powerful is a better term to describe them)
      as for the sells part
i dont care if the 3ds outsells the vita, i just want the vita to sell well

    • tbpb2010

      ^@the psvita is better
When you said the word “powerful” instead of better you made me smile :D

I think people are overusing the terms powerful and better interchangably when talking about graphics in a game system.

In my opinion, “Power” represent the technical capabilities of the system while “Better” represents how well the graphics were executed vs the competition. In other words just because a system has the power capacity to provide “better” graphics doesn’t mean thats always the case. It depends on the game. Not every game on a powerful system looks better than the competition in terms of graphics and vice versa.

And just so people know games can have good gameplay along with good graphics.

    • Matt

The level of graphics in Vita games has been much higher than that of 3ds. I don’t know what you’re talking about. Just look at Wipeout 2048.
3ds has had some outstanding examples like Resident Evil, Dead or Alive, etc. but those are in closed environments. The real power difference is obvious when you see a game like Gravity Rush on the vita. 3ds simply can’t do an open world like that and look good without buildings popping out of nowhere at a low render distance. Ugh speaking of buildings popping out of nowhere, look at Asphalt 3D…

    • Joba

@Matt: Hey Buramu! Still around I see :P

    • Matt

Hello, (insert random name here), still randomly calling people “Buramu” for no apparent reason I see?

  • http://nintendo3ds.wikia.com J. Severe

Hey look, the 360 actually outsold the PS2 this week. Usually the PS2 creams the 360. :p

Also, hating on the Vita is useless. Hate on something worth hatred, like raisin cookies.

    • revolution5268

      i like cookies.

  • SEGAGIGA

    @ the psvita is better
    “as for the sells part
i dont care if the 3ds outsells the vita, i just want the vita to sell well”

Sorry to disappoint you, your beloved system is selling poorly and it’s going to go the way of the dodo soon. Poor Kaz Hirai’s going to have to pull a holiday miracle to save it.

    • http://www.youtube.com/ZeAllMighty1 ZeAllMighty1

Remember last year, the 3DS was selling badly everyone thought it would fail. Then it got a price drop and some actually decent games. Once the vita get’s a price drop and some better games, it will start doing well too.

    • GameCollector44

@ZeAllMighty: You’re forgetting something there. The Vita won’t get a price drop. Sony’s already losing money per system sold.

As for better games…E3 better be surprising.

    • the psvita is better

dude we already been over this
i am not gonna argue with you again
i am sorry that you think that if i dont agree with your opinion, then i am wrong, but thats not my fault
i have a different perspective of things, my opinion is not a fact, but yours isnt on either
so i suggest you stop antagonizing me and be quiet about what you said
the 3ds started the same and to be fair i think nintendo wouldn’t have needed a price drop if they had release all the killer apps like mario and monster hunter when it was struggling instead of trying to put them in the holiday season
the same goes for the psvita, a couple of killer apps and it will do well, not better than the 3ds, but good enough to start being considered a success

    • Dusktail16

i love nintendo, but fanboys like you suck. and the way he was talking was nowhere near implying he thought the psv was way better. i want it to sell better too. why? its good and (besides price) it deserves better. it just needs more games.

i think the psv is like the wii at this point.
the wii had great potential but only sold 30 good games, 20-25 worth having. and thats the only reason i would ever say i dislike it. dont get me wrong – i love the wii. but it neverb got very good games.
the psv has amazing potential but has not getten the best games. (yes there are good ones but not many as of now. and i never liked uncharted that much so…)

      rates:
greatness of system: psv = 3ds
      graphics: psv > 3ds
      originality: psv < 3ds
      sales: psv <<<<< 3ds
      games: psv < 3ds
      hardware: psv = 3ds
      overall: psv = 3ds

  • Sharic X

Wow! PSP is 3rd on the sale list! And people here in Canada take it for a piece of crap. Not saying that I do…I still play DBZ TTT on my PSP and other games too.

  • Alex

    What is DSi LL

    • http://www.gamesradar.com GameManiac

      The DSi XL.

  • Reo

Lol #3 Super Mario 3D Land.
I beat that game like 6 month ago, maybe.

    and #17 MK wii
I beat that game offline mode like 1-2 years ago. And didn’t play that game recently.

Thats good the game I love still sell well.

  • Pheonix

enough of the fights. the ps vita is an O.K. console. it’s graphics aren’t great. it’s slightly better than the 3ds. it is more powerful than the 3ds but the 3ds has awesome games. the ps vita has like no good games except uncharted. since it’s not doing well in japan, that means there will be barely any good games

    • Matt

I have both the 3ds and Vita. I’m assuming from the nature of your comment that you don’t have a Vita, and have only seen its games through screenshots and videos.
The Vita’s graphics are clearly a large step above the best I’ve seen on the 3ds so far. Many 3ds titles have impressed me graphically, but I’m not going to lie to myself like you are and say it’s only a bit behind. It’s not; there’s a fairly large gap.
If you take the best looking 3ds games and render them at the Vita’s resolution (960×540) you will definitely notice a big difference.

    • person

I love my 3DS…but I’m getting a Vita tomorrow. I’m gonna love both and be all awesome playing all good games coming to each of them. And I love the fact that I’ll be able to import Vita games if I need/want to.

The Vita is still a new system, all it needs is more games. It’s gonna pick up. Just watch how popular the PSP still is in Japan. People still like Sony.

    • Matt

@person be aware that the Vita screen has common screen issues so you may want to trade in a couple until you get a good screen.
For one thing there’s an issue where vertical lines are visible on mid-tone desaturated colors. If you press and hold the home button and the menu that pops up has a texture that looks like vertical lines instead of a solid color you’ll know you have this issue.
There’s also visible blotches or dots when the screen is completely black and viewed in a dark room. This is a very common issue but not a big deal in my opinion since the screen is rarely completely black.

    • person

I’m sure if there’s anything too wrong with it you can get a new one, but most people seems to think the Vita is fine so far…

    • Matt

@person They’re just common deformities that come from OLED screens. It’s called clouding or mura.

  • Nintendo? What is a Nintendo?

    Vita = Steaming Sh*t

    • Nintendo Knight

your wrong but in a sense your right

wrong= the vita itself isnt bad, its games may lack the wow facter excluding one, the back screen maybe irratating, and the camera maybe gritty but minus that and its perfect in every other way

right: if sales continue like this the vita could be discontinued no real financial good is coming to sony and the console’s existance is draining more money than it makes which kills its purpose which makes it as you say a steaming sh!t

DEATH TO AR CARDS (both systems have them -_-)

    • person

As long as they have new popular titles like Final fantasy, Kingdom hearts, Persona, Monster hunter and whatever it will do good enough in Japan.

  • http://www.gamesradar.com GameManiac

Damn, the 3DS is outperforming the Vita eight-to-one. Howbeit, I’ll still get a Vita, when the time is right.

  • Shockwave527

    TYPO!
    DSi XL, not LL.

    • Resolute

It’s DSi XL here, but in Japan it’s called DSi LL.

  • Ispheria

whats sad is that the psp, psv, and ps3 sales combined are somewhere around half of the 3ds sales

  • Nintendo Knight

well atleast psv is picking up in…… *looks in brackets* never mind *sigh

  • Menchi

I Know we’re talking about hand-helds (and not to sound like a fan boy), but I heard that Sony’s new console would have region-lock, and something to do with used game not working on any other systems but your own. Its just a rumor but I’m wondering how you guys feel about this if it does happen. Another thing please stop the violence, the vita isn’t that bad sure its starting crummy but it will surely sell well when it gets more selection of games.

if its true sony may as well kill themselves now because not alot of people will buy it when they realize they can save money on games for the wiiu or orbus (new xbox)

    • Matt

Xbox “720″ is also said to implement an anti-used games system. If this happens on both the next Xbox and the “PS4″, then gamers will certainly move towards the Wii U.

  • Mountain Man

So all the trolls who were claiming that the 3DS was gonna fail…

    U mad?

  • Castle

    NICE!!!!

    Go nintendoh!

  • lol

Sony are f*cked they’ve been losing billions year after year in all of their divisions (not just videogames), and it will take a miracle to save them now.

I guess it’s karma though, for being so arrogant all these years, and constantly bashing Nintendo products such as saying they are for babies etc.

    • Matt

You’re talking about the American Sony head. He is an ass. The Japanese owners are fine.

The owner at gamestop let me rent the ps vita with a 16GB memory card and 3 games for 30 days which was $5.28, i played 3 of the games with it, but i was not impressed one bit with uncharted and wipeout and the other game i dont give a shit about. The stupid crappy back touch pad or whatever idiot sony want to call it was a huge pain in the ass for me, analogy sticks are waaayyyy too small, loading times are too long so i took it back the next day and told the owner how bad it was. In return he give me kid icarus uprising for a faction of the price and i’m still playing the hell out of it. Sony you piece of crap company next time make more original games and not ports from the ps3 and i might actually buy your failing system.

    • Matt

I agree that the long loading times are annoying and the back touch screen could be used better, and the memory cards are waaay too expensive. The analog sticks are small by necessity and take getting used to, which apparently you have no patience for.

On the contrary, the Vita has god-like face buttons and d-pad compared to the shit buttons and d-pad on the 3ds. I noticed the terrible 3ds d-pad right away because the d-pad on my original fat DS was so amazingly well built it didn’t even cross my mind how good or bad it was. It was just there, and it worked well, unlike the shitty d-pad on the 3ds which squeaks and is difficult to press opposing directions without lifting your thumb off it first. My point is the 3ds isn’t perfect either.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience, but it seems to me like you’re throwing a fuss over small details. You probably walked in trying to find an excuse to hate it, and naturally walked out with those excuses as a result.

I played the PSV for the first time the other day… and I’m not impressed.
I didn’t play a game that used the back panel touch screen… I played Virtua Tennis, which was fun… but
The PSV is huge and unwieldy. The control pad and buttons feel awkward and compared to the 3DS and even the PSPs analog slide pad, the two analog sticks feel weird because they’re like mini control sticks.
The point is Sony obviously tried to 1-UP Nintendo’s handheld and they did dropped the ball.
I’m sure if I bought a PSv i’d get used to it, cuz I’m sure they will be good games in the future, but I’m unimpressed. I still prefer my PSP over the PSV right now.

Lol, the DSi XL was the only console witha sales increase from last week, and it’s by just 7 sales XD

Well, most of the people who are hating on the Vita are sounding a bit immature. Although I’ve never bothered to look at it, I don’t plan to ever get one. I’m strictly a Nintendo and Nintendo-like fan and not because “OH MAH GOSH NINTENDO IZ TEH BES”. It’s simply because I enjoy their games and respect their sense of innovation. I do feel that all people who want to “fit in” look at what’s considered “manly” and “popular” (I’m mainly talking about males here) so they play nothing but violent, rated M, shooters. That’s not always entirely true, but it is for a majority of people. I love Nintendo because I like being myself, and I’m not afraid to tell my fellow High School Juniors that I love Pokemon, Mario, and Legend of Zelda, or even show off my (back then) brand new 3DS. If I’m not going to do it, then who will? I like seeing the 3DS succeed in comparison to the Vita, not because I want to see the Vita fail, but because I want to silence those who say negative things about Nintendo. I feel like Nintendo. Nintendo’s willing to try new things and get laughed at sometimes, but it’s being itself and making the games that people love. That’s why I respect them.

Not surprising. Little to No good Vita exclusives/games + steep prices = little reason to buy the system.

I’m sure it’ll be worth it in about a year or two(possibly even three~four years given how stubborn Sony is), but as of right now? No. . . Just. . . No. . .
