Enterbrain in Japan is reporting that the 3DS broke a monthly sales record last month. According to them, the 3DS sold 1,492,931 units this past December. That is apparently the highest amount any console has sold in a single month since Enterbrain began tracking sales in 1997. If accurate, this is a very impressive feat.
So much for the 3ds being a failure … and exactly how much did the vita do in december?

You’re being very unfair to the PSVita. It’s only just come out in Japan and for only (I think) 1 month! Remember how bad the 3DS sales were in the begging? Terrible, even though it launched through all countries in March (again I’m assuming this).

Don’t forget that the 3ds was launched at the same price as the Vita and outsold it in it’s first two weeks by a wide margin. The Vita has done 44,000 or something in it’s third week. Kids do get x-mas gifts as far as I know but not that many maybe just one nice gift since they get a lot of money for new years instead. Couples without kids usually go to a nice restaurant. It’s all about the games for Japan, new graphics don’t appeal to them if there’s no dragon quest, mario, other RPG or something to dig into.

That is not what a handheld is for (although it is very big you could not fit it in a regular pocket). I would be okay with it if only a few game comes out as home console-”ish” one, but as I can see now, almost all of it is like that.

The PSP did good in Nihon (Japan), but did horrible in America & Europe.
So seeing as the PS Vita is doing this bad on Nihon (Japan), can only mean it will do so much more worst in America & Europe.

actually we pay about 100 dollars for a 3ds to be made, so we only make about 70 dollars per 3ds minus the taxes obviously

I’m just made it into my 20′s and I play my 3DS in Public everywhere I go, like on the MTA buses, trains & Subways (it’s safe in the L.A. transportation, because nothing ever happens in Los Angeles; unlike New York)
But i’ll admit it’s easy to play a Nintendo Handheld in Public anywhere & everywhere in Los Angeles, because everyone does it here since Fall 2005 with the Nintendo DS.
Plus in College everyone has a Wii & DS & 3DS, so it’s even easier to play it in College, even when I went to my College Library a couple of years ago, there were people using the Wi-Fi to play Matio Kart DS, but now we can’t hook up are game systems to College Wi-Fi anymore, because of the assholes who are in charge of the Free College Wi-Fi banning acces to gaming devices.
But everyone still plays on the DS in College and now also 3DS.

The Vita already is selling poorly. Hopefully that will change when it comes to North America and Europe. By the way, Sony will MOST likely not lower the price of the Vita, because they already confirmed that they are selling the Vita as a loss.
^Thank you for saying that; I cannot tell you how many people have said ‘Oh, maybe Sony will lower the price of the Vita!” They won’t, because they were stupid enough to sell it at a loss. The only type of “price drop” they did was the special memory cards you need to buby seperately, and those are still incredibley expensive, so… nice move, Sony.

This is a little off topic but actually it really isn’t, its just my opinion and I may be taking it the wrong way but id like to see what you guys think.
A few weeks ago I saw a Sony commercial talking about their new (whatever) that allowed 2 people to play without a splitscreen. The commercial looked pretty well made, but at the end. there was an Asian waiter or servant serving the main speaker and the audience drinks. At the end he was being a real ASSHOLE to this man while talking about how cool this Sony product was. Do you think this was supposed to represent Nintendo because of Myamoto? (Sorry my Spelling sucks) or was this just part of Sony’s commercial?
