That Smash Bros. Rumor

There’s a rumor floating around that Geno from Super Mario RPG, Isaac from Golden Sun and Mega Man will be in the next Smash Bros. game. This is supposedly coming from the Twitter page of Masahiro Sakurai, but it has already been confirmed as fake. Don’t expect any details about the game for a long while.

@Csaw Difference is, that those characters were created for Nintendo and are still Nintendo games. Nintendo don’t create all of their own games, they subcontract them to other companies to make for them – Nintendo just come up with the main details and tools.

@Everybody Else – Geno is technically a third-party character since Squaresoft created him, as well as Mallow. I would love to see him in SSB4, but unless Square Enix grants permission, it won’t be happening.

@Culex fight: I never had a problem with him. If you throw the Lazy Shell armor on Toadstool, and she’s nigh unkillable, giving you the freedom to heal anyone who dies. Then it’s Mario’s Ultra Jump to take out the Crystals. After a while, they all run out of FP and can’t do anything. That fight isn’t hard, just time-consuming. Best run I did of it took the better part of 30 minutes. /off-topic

I really hope they leave third party characters out this time around. Don’t get me wrong I like Sonic and Snakes games but they were terrible characters in SSBB.

Not sure about Zoroark. He’s not really as popular as Lucario is he?

Pokemon Trainer will probably have some kind of twist….perhaps they will use the Unova starters. (Snivy, Pignite and Samurott maybe?)

If the pattern continues, Zoroark is going to replace Lucario the same way Lucario replaced MewTwo. But honestly, I think these three characters could be different enough to include all of them (unlike Fox, Falco and Wolf – replaced Wolf with Slippy and I may be satisfied).

MewTwo could have the same move set as in Melee.
Lucario could have the same move set as in Brawl.
Zoroark, in my opinion, should be like a transforming character. He has his own personal moveset, but occasionally he will have the ability to transform into another character for a few seconds and use that character’s moveset.

Your Zoroark idea makes no sense. It has been properly set out that Zoroark only LOOKS like the pokemon he transforms to but cannot use the moves of that pokemon. Thus, he can’t have that playing style.

Nice suggestions. I think bomberman and megaman (or maybe zero, that can also handle close range combat with his sword) blend with nintendo characters perfectly. Don’t know about simon, though. I think it wouldn’t fit too well, just as snake didn’t. I mean, snake had an interesting movepool, but he doesn’t feel like a nintendo character, if you know what i mean…

If they announced the Wii U with their only titles being Lego City Stories and a few third party titles, the Wii U itself would not receive much hype. By announcing a new Smash Bros, Nintendo gained the audience’s trust without having to announce its planned lineup for E3 2012.

My friends said it was stupid but I expected seeing shulk, Aeron, and Zael mostly because those are new Nintendo exclusives and itd be nice to see them there. But then my hopes went up to the point that I wanted Leon and Monster Hunter in it too (crazy right) or the technician from fire emblem kakusei since you’d be able to create them and customize them. That is why it was crazy they mentioned something about the 3ds having a customizable character that would be transferred to wiiu but they probably meant the mii.

Well, I’d never know until I play Melee.

Aside from inserting new characters, I’m hoping they retain Lucario (my favorite character in Brawl) and bring Mewtwo back (since he was reluctantly incompleted). It should be interesting seeing Lucario, Mewtwo, AND Zoroark clashing against each other.

Personally, I like the list because its believable, and it includes the two characters that I want to see the most (Krystal and Zoroark).

I even like it because it does this:

“–Krystal uses staff, which has the barrier and fireball attacks, and calls dinosaur friends for final smash.”

Unfortunately, its fake because of the timeframe that it occurred. Sakurai was still working on Kid Icarus: Uprising, and haven’t even BEGUN to consider his next two projects.

I have one question. Why does everyone want Geno in so badly? He appeared in one game several years ago, and hasn’t even been referenced since the game except for one small cameo appearance in Super Star Saga. He didn’t even talk in that. Before anyone mentions Sheik, bear in mind that Melee heavily focused on Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. OoT was released only three years before the Japanese release of Melee. Also, Sheik is a major part of Zelda, who is a major recurring character, in Smash Bros, so it only makes sense they would keep her.

I think they do try to do that but there’s something important you have to keep in mind: FILE SIZE. Brawl was one of the few games that used a dual-layer disc and it practically filled up the whole thing! If the Wii U is going to use something like Blu-Ray, a dual layer Wii U disk will be five times as large as the dual layer Wii disk.

I’m serious! I SUCK at Smash Bros! I even got beaten by a 5-year-old once! So in my view, I don’t want the game. Sure, 1,000,000 other people may get this game, but I won’t. That doesn’t mean that you can’t get the game either.

Yes, but Samus, R.O.B., Pit, Ness, Lucas, Lucario, Fox, Falco, Wolf and some Assists have the ability to shoot lasers (I I’m just considering PK and Aura because they are energy-based attacks).
Plus, I don’t think we’ll see someone with a real gun shooting bullets in next Smash. Remember Snake? No guns, just explosives.

I say we willl see some of the Assist Trophies (with high potential) become actual playable characters.
I also see some special characters seen on a certain stage being playable (Hint: they are friends with a hedgehog)
since isaac was an assist trophy, I could see him becoming a character. however I dont know anything about him so cant say for sure… (in my opinion)
