Tales of the Abyss is heading to Europe, but not until Spring 2012?

*Tales of the Abyss* is arriving in North America this year and according to this thread, which lists details from issue #62 of NGamer magazine, the game will also be coming to Europe. What’s strange though is the release date in Europe is set as Spring 2012, which is much later than the North American launch this fall. Either way though, the game is on its way to all regions, so that’s worth something.

    I’m thinking about getting this game when it comes to North America, can someone please tell me what the battle system is like?

      Play Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube or Wii, or Tales of the Abyss itself for PS2.

      If you can’t for some reason, Star Ocean the Last Hope for 360 and PS3 are quite similar too.

      Well I don’t want to buy the PS2 version of the game when the 3DS one will be coming out soon.

      Just emulate the ps2 version then. I have it on my computer, and playing it has convinced me it’s a damn good game, and I’ll get it for 3DS. The graphics are sweet, to be honest, I think it’ll completely top Ocarina of Time 3DS graphically wise.

      Think of it sort of like a fighting/action game for battles, within an RPG. You’re probably better off searching for a Youtube video. This one is relatively spoiler free, since it’s an optional sidequest boss.

    Europe always gets screwed over. 3DS cost $200 more there, and I doubt it’ll ever come to Australia.

    Why do they hate on us Europeans so much? I mean, if it is coming out in the US, the translation would be complete, so why can’t we have it sooner? Oh well, at least it is coming out

    YES, it’s coming to Europe, too! :) I truly loved Tales of Symphonia, it was equal to Zelda series for me, and that’s a lot of approvement given, especially I’m die hard Zelda fan. Yep, I got every title Zeldas ever made. Unfortunately, not in an original form of releases. 4 Example, I don’t own NES –> I got first Zelda with Cube’s Collector’s Edition.

    I don’t care if it is coming at 2012, because OoT 3D, DOAD, Prof Layton, Super Mario 3D, One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP, MarioKart 3DS and Naruto 3DS are going to keep me reeeeally busy :)

    This is from the same makers of Tales of Symphonia, I wonder, if the story makes me as surprised as I was while playing ToS :O

    The date for Europe is a just a placeholder. A writer for the magazine said that a firm date is to be announced at a conference in a few weeks.

    However, Spring 2012 isn’t that bad. Remember, Abyss has already been localised for the US so they can simply reuse that and release it quickly, while Europe is going to need a fresh localisation as it was never released there before. The delay, while annoying, is understandable, but hopefully it’s not as bad as it sounds and the firm date will be a bit sooner anyway.

    Europe is getting Tales of the Abyss for the first time! That is news worth celebrating in my book!

    OOT 3D will only have 150.000 copies on release. Mask of Miracle (1st bestseller now) sold 115.000 on its first week. Sounds enough for me.

    If this game comes out in 2012, im actually kind of happy. I can’t afford to buy this game during this year because there are just too many good games comming out this year!
