GoNintendo is reporting that the 3DS has received a temporary price drop at Walmart retailers, shaving $10 off the price. It’s not a huge amount, but you can check it out online, or in stores if you want to save a few bucks.

Officially, it’s over a week before the Midnight Purple 3DS should be available. But, supposedly, the new colour has become available at some Walmart locations. If you want to pick it up, you might want to check out your local retailer. There’s photos of the colour after the break from a display at the Nintendo World Store.

We reported the rumor that Walmart would be selling the 3DS at a discounted price before the official price drop. That has been confirmed to be happening at some locations. This discounted price means that you can be eligible for the Ambassador Program without having to pay the premium price.

There is a huge price drop for the 3DS starting on August 12th. But, according to this source Walmart will lower the price to $169.99 three days early. This means you can purchase the 3DS and get the free games as a part of the ambassador program. This is all a rumour at this point, but it does come from a reliable source.

According to this post on NeoGAF, Walmart will be selling the Nintendo 3DS for $198 between July 28th and August 4th. That’s a pretty good deal. You may want to check it out if you’ve been waiting for a price drop.
