Shantae

The original Shantae title from WayForward was announced for release on the 3DS via the Virtual Console a while ago, and we’ve known that it was set for release around the end of June or early July. Luckily, the official confirmation has arrived: it’s coming on June 20th. The third game in the series is being developed for the 3DS at the moment, so this would be a good place to begin in the mean time.

Game Gear

Nintendo and SEGA are getting wonderfully cosy together, and already coming from that relationship is a collection of thirteen Game Gear titles that are now set for release on the 3DS via the Virtual Console. The complete list of games can be found after the break.

Legend of the River King Box Art

Natsume has confirmed that Legend of the River King, a title from the GameBoy Color, is coming to the Virtual Console in North America on the 28th of March. There’s no release date for other regions as of yet.

Oracle

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons are (eventually) coming to the 3DS via the Virtual Console in North America, but both games are available right now in Japan and the first fifteen minutes of either title can be found after the break.

Oracle of Seasons Ages

Eiji Aonuma has confirmed that both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages are coming to the 3DS via the Virtual Console. They’ll arrive in Japan next week, but won’t hit North America for “a little while longer”. At least they’re on their way though.

Virtual Console in Japan

In the recent Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo has confirmed that both Harvest Moon and Legend of the River King are coming to the 3DS via the Virtual Console. No specific release date was given though. They’ll just be available “in the coming months”.

Dig Dug NES

Dig Dug is set to become available via the Virtual Console on the 14th of February. This is the NES version of the game (rather than the GameBoy version) and will cost $3.99.
