Square Enix has announced that the preorder bonus for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy in North America consists of a gripped stylus and a set of 17 stickers which feature various Final Fantasy characters that can be used to customize the stylus. The game itself will launch in North America on July 3rd.

Square Enix has announced that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will be released on July 3rd in North America, while Kingdom Hearts 3D will be released on July 31st. There’s no information on release dates in the other regions, but I imagine it won’t be too long before we hear something on the matter.

Square Enix has announced that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy and Heroes of Ruin will be playable at PAX East in Boston, Massachusetts. Those who try out Heroes of Ruin will also be able to enter a raffle to win a 3DS. If you’re planning on going to PAX East, you might want to check out the Square Enix booth. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy was said to be selling well in Japan, and now the clarification that the game sold about 69,000 copies in its first week, but due to supply constrains by Square Enix, that amounts to 90% of its initial shipment. It might not be that bad for a spin-off game, although the whole idea that was “selling out” was misleading.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy has launched in Japan and it is apparently doing very well. GetNews in Japan is reporting that the game has sold out in stores soon after being put on the shelves. Though we won’t know the exact numbers until next week, this is still very good news. Hopefully the game’s success will mean it will be localized soon.

There will be eight songs available as paid downloadable content for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy when it’s released, and a total of fifty songs over the course of the game’s existence. The initial songs, include:

  • Final Fantasy II – Battle Scene 1
  • Final Fantasy IV – The Final Battle
  • Final Fantasy XI – Fighters of the Crystal
  • Final Fantasy XIII – Fighting Fate
  • Final Fantasy V – In Search of Light
  • Final Fantasy VII – Cosmo Canyon
  • Final Fantasy VIII – Ride On
  • Final Fantasy X – Someday the Dream Will End
