The first animated short for Kid Icarus: Uprising is now available via Nintendo Video in North America and Japan. This instalment is the beginning of a three-episode series that focuses on Pit fighting Thanatos, the god of death. There’s no word on whether the short has hit Australia and Europe, but we’ll be watching for when it does.

Nintendo has announced that a trailer for the 3D version of Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace will be released via Nintendo Video in the UK on February 9th. But this is The Phantom Menace we’re talking about, so avoiding it at all costs may be the smart thing to do. Still, the 3D effects might look cool on the 3DS. So that’s something.

Nintendo in the UK and Red Bull Media House are partnering to bring new videos to the Nintendo Video application. These videos will include clips from mountain bike championships, extreme dirt bike riding, downhill skiing, surfing, and other extreme sport events are by Red Bull Media House. All of this will be viewable in 3D, and is coming to the 3DS over the next few months.

It is now possible to purchase videos from the eShop that will remain permanently within your Nintendo Video application. But, as you can see above, a single video from the ‘DreamWorks Animation Halloween Collection’ costs a whopping $1.99. As such, I’m going to offer a simple piece of advice: don’t spend money on any of this. For such a short piece of content, $1.99 is way too expensive and should not be supported. It’s a trial I can’t blame Nintendo for playing around with, but it does not deserve to any level of success.

A new animation from College Humor has been published via Nintendo Video. It’s known as “BearShark” and is described as “When Bear and Shark team up, nobody’s safe on land or sea.” This is only for North America as far as I’m aware. Feel free to share your thoughts on it to let others know if it’s worth a download.
