In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, it was confirmed that WayForward’s Mighty Switch Force will be receiving an update at some point in the future. The update will include five new levels to play (for free), along with enhancements to the 3D effect and quick-retry button. The game itself was very well-received, so if you haven’t take a look yet, keep an eye out for the update.

Nintendo World Report has shared their thoughts on Mighty Switch Force, saying that it is “a highly polished game” with “detailed pixel art and animation” and an “exceptional soundtrack”. At the same time though, it’s price of $5.99 also makes more sense as the game is said to be somewhat short and “an initial playthrough will probably be on the order of an hour”. That doesn’t sound like it’s enough to discount a play-through though as speed-runs are encouraged and your level completion times are tracked so you can challenge yourself.

WayForward has confirmed that Mighty Switch Force, which is arriving on the 3DS via the eShop in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand on December 22nd will sell for $5.99. That appears to be more than a fair price and it’s very likely I’ll share my first impressions of the game when it’s released.

Mighty Switch Force from WayForward is coming to Europe via the eShop next week on December 22nd. The game will be arriving in North America during the first quarter of next year, so the majority of you will have to continue playing the waiting game for the time being.

Update: So it turns out that the game will also be arriving in North America on December 22nd, making for a simultaneous worldwide launch. Cool.

WayForward’s new action puzzler, Mighty Switch Force, will be playable at Game Night 6. The event will be taking place on the 17th of September in Los Angeles.
