Crimson Shroud is one of four games in Level 5′s compilation game known as Guild 01 and, according to the latest issue of Famitsu, we now know this particular game is a tabletop RPG. The game is set up so that you decide what the characters do and dice rolls determine whether you are successful in your actions or not. The game’s story is presented in the form of text on top of 3D screenshots. Not much was said about the battle system. You can check after the break for some of the first screenshots of the game.

The CEO of Level-5 said that Level-5 is aiming to release Fantasy Life, Time Travelers and Guild 01 for the 3DS in 2012. They are apparently on the final stretch for releasing Time Travelers and, while these comments only apply to Japan, it does give us hope that the rest of the world won’t have to wait long to play them.

Level-5 hosted a live stream over the weekend to show off a bunch of their projects. One of those was Time Travelers, and you can check out a trailer for the game after the break. It’s set to be released in 2012 for the 3DS, Vita, and PSP and you can click here to find more out about the story.

Guild 01 is a collection of four games for the 3DS put together by a group of talented developers and we now know a few more details about three out of four of those games.

• Air Porter has you managing a passenger’s luggage to make your airport more efficient with the end goal being to make your airport successful enough to handle the arrival and departure of Air Force One.
• Rental Bukiya de Omasse has you running a weapon shop with your son where you decide which weapons adventurers take into battle.
• Crimson Shroud puts you in the role of a person called a Chaser who is skilled in finding people. It take places one thousand years in the past and focuses on how magic became commonplace in the world.

So we heard that Time Travelers from Level-5 is set in Tokyo during 2031. But it has now been revealed that the game actually starts only a few years in the future until a hole, referred to as the “Lost Hole” opens in the sky above Tokyo. This is accompanied by an explosion and Central Tokyo is destroyed and many lives are lost. This is when the story then jumps ahead to 2031.

There’s no specific details about how the story unfolds, although andriasang provided the following details about the futuristic setting:

Tokyo is a futuristic city, with holographic signs filling the streets, and a building called the “Space Elevator” rising from Tokyo Bay. While there’s a “space” in the name, the building is only 2,000 meters high. It serves as a power source for the city.

Time Travelers will be playable at Level-5 World later this week, meaning we should be receiving a lot more details about it very soon.

Level-5 will show off Time Travelers for the 3DS at Level-5 World later this week, but Famitsu has revealed that the game is due for a release in 2012 (which is not that surprising) and that it’s set in Tokyo during the year 2031. It’s also mentioned that the game is coming to the PlayStation Vita and the PSP.
