Level-5 revealed in a recent interview that the reason why Rental Weapon Shop, a game in Level-5′s Guild 01 compilation, has not been announced for release outside of Japan is that the game relies heavily on knowledge of Japanese culture and also contains large amounts of text. Because of this, Level-5 is still considering whether or not it would be beneficial for them to localize the game. Level-5 also revealed that they hope to release Guild 02 outside of Japan, but currently have nothing to announce as the game is still in development.

On a slightly related note, Aero Porter, another of the games in Guild 01, will be launching in Europe and North America on the 29th of November. You can check after the break for some screenshots from the game.

  • A suspense game known as Alone in which the main character, who has lost his memory, wakes up in a dark place and tries to discover who he is and what he’s doing there.
  • Keiji Inafune’s game, Bug Tank where you face off against giant bugs using a World War II tank.
  • The game known as The Friday When The Monsters Appear, which deals with a town in which monsters appear every Friday.

The artwork is after the break.

Level-5 has not yet released Guild 01, a compilation title for the 3DS with games from various developers, but they’ve still announced a follow-up to the title, dubbed (suprisingly enough), Guild 02. The details are sparse, but Keiji Inafune – the creation of Mega Man – is on board for the title, and he’s working on a game known as Mushikera Sensha. It’s set during World War II, and has the player “control a tank that has been converted to mini size” with the ultimate goal being to “face off in battle against giant insects”. Just like a real war.

I’m not expecting these titles to arrive outside of Japan, but it should be interesting to see what Inafune puts together. You can see a couple of scans from the game after the break.
