Famitsu has revealed that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is coming to the Virtual Console on the 3DS in Japan. The game is launching on the 31st of October and you can check after the break for some screenshots.
It’s been revealed via the Australian Classification Board that two more GameGear games will be released on the 3DS. The first of these is Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya, a tactical role-playing game, while the other is Defenders of Oasis. There are no release dates yet, but it shouldn’t be long before we hear something.

Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that the GameGear games which were released in North America will be making their way to the eShop in Europe on Thursday. Given that Australia and Europe both have the same release schedule, it’s likely they’ll also be released in Australia this week.

Sonic Blast and Sonic Labyrinth rated for release on the 3DS Virtual Console

Sonic Blast and Sonic Labyrinth, originally released for the GameGear, have been rated by the Australian Classifications Board. This seems to indicate that they will be the next GameGear Virtual Console releases, but we won’t know for sure until Nintendo makes an announcement.
