Amazon.com is hosting a Summer Road Trip Gaming Event, which equates to offering large discounts on lots of handheld games, including games for the 3DS. Most games are seeing a 25-30% reduction in price, with the price of Blazblue Continuum Shift II has been cut by 50%. You can click here to find all the deals.

In line with the price drop of the 3DS, you can also get a free game with your system from Toys R’ Us if you pick it up before August 14th. There is a limited selection of games you can choose from, and pretty much all of them suck. But good things have been said about Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, so if you’re keen to get that game, then this is a good deal.

Starting on August 12th the Nintendo 3DS will cost $169.99 in North America. If you go to their online store here, you can buy a 3DS for only $199. If you’re in Canada, and don’t have a 3DS, this is probably the best price you’ll get for a long while.
