Cave Story came to the eShop in North America back in October, but was never released in Europe. Why? Well, we don’t know. But we do know now that the game has been approved on the eShop for release in Europe, which means it shouldn’t be long before we find out a more specific release date. I think it’s safe to say European folks will be playing it within the next month or so though.
After discovering a bug within one of the game’s modes, Nicalis has updated the eShop version of Cave Story. For those who have picked it up already, you might want to get around to downloading it.

If you own a 3DS, and haven’t played Cave Story before (and even if you have), do yourself a favor and download this game right away. You’ll thank me. From beginning to end it’s an enjoyable, intriguing, and challenging adventure, worthy of any gamer’s time.

Nicalis has revealed that Cave Story is coming to the eShop on October 4th. The game feature 3D effects, and new challenges, and will sell for $9.99. You can check after the break for new screenshots.
