The teaser website for the mystery project between Capcom, SEGA, and Namco Bandai has been updated with a countdown clock. The clock is set to end next week, so it’s safe to assume we’ll probably get concrete details about the game at that time. For now though, we’ll just have to wait.

Capcom, SEGA and Namco Bandai are working together on a mystery project for the 3DS. The teaser website was updated with chromosomes associated with each company, and these chromosomes appear to be related to individual characters from each company (one of them could be connected with Bayonetta, for instance). In the past few hours, the website was updated again with two new chromosomes attached to each company.

There was also a light added to the top left corner of the website. Based on the amount of lights that can fit in this section and the rate at which these lights are being “switched on”, it seems that the game will be unveiled on April 11th. You can click here to see the website, or follow this thread at NeoGAF for the speculation.

We won’t have any details yet, but the recent Nintendo Direct broadcast in Japan has confirmed that SEGA, Capcom and Namco Bandai are collaborating on a mystery project for the 3DS. That’s all we have to go on for the time being, but feel free to make lots of wild guesses as to what it might be.

You can click here to see a teaser website for the game. (Thanks to Joshua for mentioning this.)

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Tri G has already sold 1,000,000 copies since it’s release on December 10th. There’s not much else to say about this aside from noting the obvious in how crazy these numbers are. Let’s hope it’s enough for Capcom to localise the game (and seriously, it should be).

For the time being, you can click here to watch the twenty minutes of footage from the game.

Update: Aw, bugger. I jumped the gun on this story. It’s 1,000,000 units shipped, not sold. As far as sales are concerned, it’s closer to 500,000 units so far. Still a huge amount, but not as impressive as the mistaken figure. Sorry about that.

Capcom has said in a recent Q&A they are “considering” launching Monster Hunter Tri G in other regions, but have not come to a final decision. While it certainly sounds like there’s a chance the game could see a world-wide release, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Capcom has said in their latest financial report that Resident Evil: The Mecenaries 3D “performed solidly” in regards to sales, which makes me wonder, why isn’t Capcom throwing more support behind the system? But I think it is one of those questions we’ll never know the answer too. Since they didn’t quantify the success of the game though, perhaps it didn’t do that well, only better than their projections.

In case you had dreams of hunting monsters with you mates through the wonders of the internet, Capcom is here to kill them as Monster Hunter Tri G will not feature online multiplayer. And yes, that is a solid bunch of suckiness right there, but you can check after the break for a comic from SwiftSketcher (originally published at Tiny Cartridge) that sums up the situation very well. Try not to weep too much though.
