Super Mario Bros. for the NES is now available on the eShop in North America for people who are not a part of the Ambassador Program. The game sells for $4.99 and has all the features listed in the recent update. There is no word on when this will make its way to other regions.

Kinda looks like FireFox but without the fire.

If it is then I feel dumb for not knowing enough about the browser I use.

    4. MarioMaster 7

@Belinni correct! I choose this one over the red one Because I thought it is cooler, but this looks more like it

  3. Aguy

this is good for people that dont have it :D but luckily i do!

Hence the money you saved by paying an extra $50 or so for the 3DS, what i still regret is the fact that I already played some, if not, most of the ambassador games, but for the bright side… here’s a little story:
I lost my Metroid Fusion GBA cartridge years ago, and I lost all hopes of recovering it, it was my favorite GBA title and my best GBA + GCN combo (Metroid Prime Bonus contents), and I needed it to recover these bonus since my Memory card got corrupted.
But as years passed, Metroid Prime Trilogy came out, I was about to purchase MP3 but changed my mind once I say the Full Trilogy in a single disc, and fortunately I needed it, cuz my MP1 & 2 game discs were damaged as hell and playing a friend’s copy of MP3 left me with desires of MOAR gameplay time.
There I got all I needed, 3 games, a sort of achivement system, in-game currency, unlockable bonus content, the MP1 fusion suit…
I only wished I had my cartridge back, I missed that eerie feeling of loneliness in a space station filled with parasites trying to kill you.
Eventually, the 3DS ambassador program brought me back that jewel I missed so much, it may be underrated for many, but I care and treasure every game I get from my favorite franchises.

    2. theyll get them eventually. just dont hoold your breath or anything.

    3. MarioMaster 7

I hope so, the GBA was my first handheld gaming system and it would be great if they were avaliable on the e-shop :)

    4. Aguy

THE GBA GAMES ARE NOT GOING ON THE ESHOP!!!!!! NINTENDO SAID SO DUMBASSES!

    5. MarioMaster 7

@aguy don’t get mad, get glad.

    6. Naner

@Aguy: Nintendo said they had “no plans” on releasing GBA games on the eShop. They also said they had “no plans” on releasing the DS lite, “no plans” on releasing a Wii MotionPlus bundle for Wii Sports Resort and “no plans” on releasing Xenoblade Chronicles in America.

GBA games WILL come to the eShop. Just don’t expect them until around E3 2013.

For now, let us ambassador enjoy our exclusive games :D

  5. Matthew

    Ambassador BIOTCH!

  6. Philip

I got it as soon as I saw it in the eShop as I was not part of the Ambassador Program and so far It’s great!

  7. me

    1. Gunner

      Everyone already knows by now

    2. Is it just me or is MGS 3D a little slow with 3D on? =(

    3. Belinni

      Seems fine to me.

Excellent, been waiting and waiting. Hopefully the trend will continue and they will release another ambassador game next week, although I am doubtful that will happen. God forbid they release two in one week. At this pace the eshop will be starting to get good right as the next handheld comes out. It will be an interesting e3 this year to hear some of there future plans which I suspect there holding until then.

  9. David

    their*

    1. Naner

      *they’re

  10. this article is just a reminder:

dont ever buy anything early from nintendo again.

    1. Justin

Well these are $5 each. So essentially Nintendo gave ambassadors $50 of games. I imagine if Gameboy Advance games ever release they would be about $10. That’s about $100 of games Nintendo gave ambassadors. So in total they gave us about $150 in games for free. I say that’s a fair trade off for ambassadors.

    2. Naner

Especially since we got them long before anyone else. I’m very happy with my Ambassador games. I was finally able to beat Super Mario Bros. and will soon start working on The Legend of Zelda and The Minish Cap. And being the Metroidtard I am, I absolutely loved Metroid and Fusion in the deal.

  11. $5 for an NES game? lolno

    1. person

Why not? You dissin’ the good oldies? Kiddo?! :/

    2. SakuMo

That’s how much they are on the Wii VC. :T

    3. Nah. But paying $5 for a game that I could get for $1 elsewhere isn’t worth it. Unless you’re not cheap like me :P

  12. Pac-Man1096

Nintendo said they do not plan on releasing the Ambassador GBA games on the eShop: That doesn’t mean that no GBA games will ever be on the eShop. Just non-Ambassadors won’t have the oppurtunity to download the 10 games we got.

    1. RaxonXVI

Wich sux cuz a lot of my fave gba games are on that list minish cap, fusion, and amazing mirror

    2. SakuMo

I honestly don’t think that is the case. “No plans” means “no plans right now, but maybe later.” It always does. To deny people those games (or more importantly) to deny themselves the serious profits they could *gain* from selling those 10 games to the public is dumb, but to think that they actually *will* keep them exclusive is even dumber. I’m an Ambassador, and even I know better than to think they’re going to be exclusive forever.

  13. Super Mario Bros. for all!

  14. NoTheMama

Put Super Mario World in the eshop & ill be one very happy camper!!
    Do it Nintendo!!

    1. RaxonXVI

And a link to the past

  15. Perry (MON on MK7)

Is this game good? I haven’t heard of it.

    1. RaxonXVI

      What 0.0

    2. person

Someone was born yesterday I see.

    3. NutyNuty

person, you are god damn right!

  16. Drybones

Tell you the truth it shouldn’t be on Virtual Console because its a NES game. Should have been a 3D Classic. Plus the only thing the update was for was the restore points and a new picture on the 3DS menu screen.(took an hour just for that.) But this comment wasn’t mean for trolling so ill stop here. I’m enjoying so i can’t complain to much. (Two things I would love to see:)
-Donkey Kong Land games or the Donkey Kong Country games for GBA on virtual console.
-Being able to listen to 3DS Sound while playing games.(your music)

    1. SoraIsRoxas15

      A-men to that !

    2. My name is NOT Earl

What I really hope for is that and being able to put your games on files in the menu for less desperating looking for one game, and maybe an update that makes ambassador games into 3D classics
