Square Enix has confirmed they will be releasing downloadable songs for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy when the game launches in North America. They didn’t get into specifics like a date or price for the DLC, but the content is coming.

  • the psvita is better

hopefully they make the dlc worth it

Music from their other games would be great, like Chrono Trigger/Cross, Secret of Mana, Terranigma, etc.

You completely forgot It’s a Wonderful World/The World Ends With You.

Unfortunately its just FF, not SQUARE-ENIX RHYTHM GAME.

Can’t wait to have to pay for shit that should’ve been in the game in the first place. Will it be on-cartridge or did they purposely take it out of the game before they shipped it? Fucktards. And Nintendo’s going to go this same route with their generic-ass Mario games, starting with that new 2D one that doesn’t have online even though it supports the fucking Nintendo Network.

SCREW DLC! MAY IT FUCKING BURN IN FUCKING HELL!

For the record this game’s DLC are more songs, which they couldn’t fit onto the game cart, so do a little research before you make an ass of yourself, also ya know the thing about DLC? you don’t have to buy it, no one is forcing you to, so just don’t buy it, it’s that simple…

Nintendo delivers complete games, no DLC, no nothing, because the game is good enough on its own.

DLC is for players who get bored of the game easily.

Actually Square Enix is including DLC because all of the songs and content already on the game card reached the 2GB limit and Square Enix didn’t want to use the 4GB game card.

DLC for this game is to download content that couldn’t have been fit on the game card; it isn’t on cartridge DLC.

If you don’t like DLC, don’t buy it then. DLC is for those fans who really want to play more content outside what the original retail game came with. Having 2GB of content is still a full experience. DLC for this game is for those who want more.

And if I remember correctly, didn’t Square Enix offer the first patch of DLC for free in Japan when the game came out?

  • Big E

I hope fo Somnus to be available day 1

  • LittleMofreaky

    very nice very nice

  • ZimmerRemmiz

Sweet, I’m looking forward to it…

  • J

Awesome! I wonder if will also be getting that DLC that features a song from Final Fantasy Versus.

  • SakuMo

Sweet, I’ll have to pick up a card with my copy, then. :D

    Oh.
    Cool?
Extra songs I have to pay for. One by one.
Not going to happen. The only money (at this point) that Squeenix is going to see from me for this game is the initial cost of the game.

On the other hand, if they want more of my money, they need to do the following:

    1. Package, say, five songs in one download. We’ll say five songs from IV, just as an example.
    2. Included in the package, throw in some extra characters. For this example, let’s say Rosa and Edge, rounding out your five finishing heroes.
    3. Make them unlockable like the ones that are included in the game already.

I mean, doesn’t each character in every game have a theme? BOOM! Songs automatically.

This pay for one song here, one song there and that’s it thing is for the birds. I’m keeping my money.

NOTE: I’m basing this off of how they are handling the DLC in Japan at this time.
