Rumor: Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney to be localised?

There is hope that Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney may be localised. This stems from a press release that is written in the English language and is being distributed at Capcom’s booth at the Tokyo Game Show. The press release also mentions that “English names are TBD.” It’s still a rumor, but the hope is there.

    I saw this before con Court-Records. It’s obvious they were going to announce it’s worlwide release, anyway.

    Well this game did top the poll of their facebook page for which game people wanted localized.

    I’d like to think they won’t ignore the people. :p

      ^That was Capcom.
      Level-5 is the one developing this, so I highly doubt we’ll see a repeat. Especially since Level-5 is intent on strengthening international releases with their new American branch.

      it would be funny to see them run an ad saying “unlike other companies *show capcom logo* we care about what our fans want”

      Yeah, but if it does come to North America and other regions, Capcom is probably publishing it.
      Level-5 is only the publisher of the Layton series in Japan, while Nintendo publishes it everywhere else.

    This seems a bit dumb. Of course this is going to be localised, the Layton games do great numbers worldwide.
    Same goes for both Monster Hunter 3DS titles by the way, they’ll be localised. I guarentee it.

    Putting further fuel on the fire here is that the PS3 version of Ni no Kuni has been confirmed for localisation – that game placed second in Level-5′s localisation poll, after Layton vs. Wright.

    They better localize it….. If they blow us off like they did with pretty much 80% of the monster hunter games, I’ll be really pissed.

      Were the only people who had access to it your family members, or was it in a public place? Sounds like a dick move for a family member to take it.

      I wouldn’t downright blame anybody, but do you think a child took it? It does draw attention to younger gamers. Other than that, were there any guests that weren’t family members there? Cuz, if there was then you’re probably out of luck.

    Considering Level 5 set up the office here in the US, I very much doubt they wouldn’t localize this. I mean, Layton is pretty much their most popular series. Not only will it attract Layton fans, but a lot of the Phoenix Wright fans as well. Also, if they don’t, I’ll cry. I doubt they can live with that on their conscience.

    It’s kind of scary that there is even a chance a huge popular franchise like this wouldn’t be localized. What is the matter with the industry these days that localization is suddenly such a risk?

    It’ll probably take a long while for Level-5/Capcom to localize this. The specters flute is still planned for this fall and not to mention Miracles mask is still waiting localization for 2012 Id guess that this could be localised maybe around 2013ish.

    I actually liked more Ace Attorney when they were sprites, but this games looks cool, if they don’t localize it’s another punch in the stomach for the 3DS

    As long as level 5 has a say on this, it WILL be localized. Unlike Ace Attorney, Layton games do pretty well everywhere in the world.
