Pokemon heading to the 3DS?

It was reported that a new Pokemon game is going to be revealed next month. If the photos after the break are anything to go by though this game will be for the 3DS. Unfortunately the photos are blurry, everything’s in Japanese and there’s no full shot of the page, so it’s hard to accurately judge what’s being shown. But there is a character holding a Pokeball and an image of a 3DS, so it’s seeming positive. What do you think though?

**Update:** As pointed out Dragons_Slayer in the comments, the image on the 3DS’s display appears to be Agate Village from *Pokemon Colosseum*, making this story a lot more interesting.

    The design of the character leaves me to suspect that its a game based around the collesium, stadium, XD Gale of darkenss and Revolution series. Pokemon Collesium 3ds perhaps?

    Definitely Pokemon XD. The main character (Michael) is from XD, and in the second photo you can see Jovi (his sister) being kidnapped or whatever by that guy in the main town (forgot what it’s called. Mr. Verich is there, anyway).

      I wouldn’t mind a remake. XD: Gale of Darkness was a really good game (that I never got to play since my brother hogged the GameCube when we were kids, but I still appreciated it from the couch).

      Pokemon XD was the SEQUEL to Pokemon Coliseum. So this article is correct; it’s part of the Coliseum series.

      It’s about as strong as a Gamecube or maybe a tad stronger. Have you seen the months old trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations?

      Although it is a strong enough portable to handle a port or a sequel of the series, I don’t think they would, These kind of games have always been strictly console titles only. But if it is I wonder if it’ll support transferring your DS Pokemon over for 3D battles?!

      Considering it managed to run the Xbox360/PS3 demo of Resident Evil 5 at over 20fps says a lot. Plus the Tales of Whatever game coming for it is a direct port, no cutbacks to the graphics and the specs are actually more powerfuul than the Gamecubes, which on a portable it will do 5x as much as it would do on a console.

    I just realised something else. Colleseum/XD have pokemon only up to Ruby/Sapphire. With Black/White being the recent versions I doubt Nintendo would allow this to happen as they advertised Black/White a lot. Although there could be a possibility of them putting the new pokemon in the game, give it connectivity with Black and White and have some Stadium and Online mode like PBR had. But I still think it’s unlikely.

    That pic is identical to one of the ‘screenshots’ in these ‘scans’ so either this ‘game’ is a direct port or they’re fake.

    I’m guessing the latter.

    The character pictured here is definitely Michael from Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, not Colosseum. Both games used the same engine and they both featured that location in-game, so it wouldn’t surprise me if it was either a remake or sequel.

    Personally, I really liked XD, so I might actually get this when it comes out.

      This game has to have been in development before the 3DS was released, so the magazine or NIntendo could have made these pages before the change to the gray circle pad.

    This cannot be Colosseum 3D. It shows Michael, not Wes. Also, the article says that Agate Village was from Colosseum, but it was actually in Colosseum AND Gale of Darkness. My theory? Well, it’s either a 3D collection of both games, or… COLOSSEUM 3!!!

      Dude, what part of Glae of Darkness is the f***ing SEQUEL to Colosseum are people not understanding?! It’s the same damn series! They’re both part of the same region and both involve the same organization and the “shadow Pokemon” arcs. The events of XD: Gale of Darkness takes place right after the events of Colosseum. They have different lead characters, but it’s still part of the same series, which started with Colosseum. Hence, this is part of the Colosseum trilogy.

    isn’t that when you first run Zook at gateon port? it’s the scene where you see master greevil for the first time and “Mysterious trainer” knocks out Zook’s Shadow Zangoose.

    Anyway, this would be really awesome if this is true. I have never played Colosseum, and XD was awesome, so wahtever of thoose it will be does not mather. Although i have some doubts… Pokemon never does any ports. Remakes yes, but never ports. Of course, this could be a remake.

    Looking at those screenshots, one of them (the one with the creepy trees) looks exactly like an exterior shot from XD.

    Also, as others have pointed out, the character there is Michael from Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, although even his pose is exactly the same from XD – it seems odd that they’d use the exact same artwork as XD, when TPCi update artwork of protagonists even between Diamond/Pearl and Platinum.

    Heads up, but Agate Village is in Gale of Darkness too.

    The main character is from XD/Gale of Darkness and Agate Village is in -both- games, not just Colosseum. You just use it significantly less (because you get the computer thing to purify Pokemon, speeding up the process).

    If real, it’s just a remake/port of XD: Gale of Darkness. Nothing to do with Colosseum outside of sharing the world, like the original version did.

    the first screen shot is the boy you play as in the game!

    the second is a early part of the story were the main character’s sister gets in trouble.

    the third and forth is of definitely the village called agate village.

    i can say with great certainty that is Pokemon xd gale of darkness!

    I haven’t played more because are to repetitive, but I agree that are great games.
    And if you look the game is not for kids. You make a small animals to kill each other for yourself and put them into small balls. Why the animal protection agencies doesn’t say anything?

    This is just pokemon XD on 3ds. The character is from XD and so is the location. It was originally in Colosseum but it is also in XD. It isn’t a sequel either because I recognise the photo where the little girl is standing next to the big guy. This is just a port of XD.

    Hmmmm… Normally if I see a roumord game like this my opomism kicks in full blast, but I think this could be fake. The pic with Michal, Jovi, and Zook is exactly the same as the origional XD… It could be a remake/port, which I wouldn’t be mad about, but I was hoping for a new game… If this is real, awesome, just through in up to date game mechanics and I’ll be good to go. Hopefully some wifi and wirrless features and ability to use new Pokemon and trade/ battle with b/w.

    Anyway, if this is true, we could see a sequel to the game on the 3DS. However, I don’t know what I’m more excited about: Pokemon on the 3DS, or the fact that my wish of getting a Colosseum/XD-type of Pokemon game might come true. :)

    the pics are probably hinting that there would be a new pokemon collisuem game. The XD pictures are probably to show how the series would look like in the 3ds.

    They did this with 2 other parts as well(bottom/top left) wtfudge.
    In boxed captions its ok because it can’t be helped but this is just bad.

    Rember people have faked things like this in the past just look on serebii.net in the fake pokemon section. Never finishing the game and being a die hard pokemon fan, I would rather have a Black/White remake than a consol remake.

    Why can’t this just be changed to say it’s fake already? Isn’t it obvious why no Pokémon fansite has reported it? Because we know a fake when we see one.

    Due to the influence this site has, it means this story has spread around the internet, when it could have easily been stopped by updating it to say it was fake, rather than a clear image.

      There is no possible magazine this could have come from, judging from the date it was leaked. CoroCoro is out in the 15th of every month and we would have heard about it around the 10th, and Dengeki DS isn’t due out until the week after the next CoroCoro issue; and neither of them are probably printed yet.

      It’s a fake. Simple as that.

    This is so long overdue, a re make of pokemon stadium, or possibly even another sequel! Way to spice up the gaming for 3DS, although it was kind of obvious that a pokemon game would have to be released for it soon. Pokemon just makes things better?

    I never really enjoyed Pokemon XD like I did with the normal Pokemon games, probably because it wasn’t portable. Now that’s on the 3DS, maybe I’ll get into it more. And maybe they’ll update it with the new Pokemon and with the other DS games, I don’t know. I hope so though!

    It is for sure that the images that we are seeing are similar to pokemon colosseum but the character being shown holding the poke’ball was never presented in that video game at the time. Obviously it will be an updated version of the game… CAN’T WAIT!!! I have a feeling that pokemon 3ds will utilize the AR cards similar to Nintendogs + Cat 3ds. Or so I hope!!!
