Pokemon game to be revealed on June 15th

We heard that a new Pokemon game was going to be revealed on May 21st. That might still happen, but now it seems like all the details about the new game will be unveiled on June 15th via CoroCoro, a Japanese magazine. We’re still not sure if this game will have anything to do with the Nintendo 3DS. But at the very least, it’s a new Pokemon title of some sort, so it’s probably worth getting at least a little excited for it.

    I hope it’s the 3rd title of the 5th gen and not one of those boring Mystery Dungeon spin-offs or even worse…
    It’d be Barney-Stinson awesome if it was for the 3DS though…

      They probably won’t release a main game for the 3DS until they get their Pokemon fanbase to get the 3DS, so it’ll probably be a spinoff game.

      But surely only the hardcore fanbase would only buy the spin-offs? I would imagine that releasing the main sequence title would drive the 3DS sales up no?

      Releasing a main Pokemon Game for the 3DS would boost the sales of the 3DS, but as a result, because lots of people can’t afford a 3DS at this point, and only the hard core Pokemon Fans would make “getting a 3DS” happen, casual Pokemon Fans would not be willing to spend money on a 3DS, and I know that many would likely stop playing Pokemon because of the cost.

      Well, I think it’s likely to be the latest installment. It would only be an announcement, the actual game might not grace shelves for another year.

      Also like cinnamon pointed out, it would boost 3DS sales. Not everyone would get one for this game, but there are still plenty of other Pokemon titles they already probably own. It would only make a very small crowd turn away from the franchise completely.

      It would push the system if they make Pokemon for 3DS. I believe they will announce it at E3

    What will most likely happen, is that Dengeki DS will reveal the name of the game, and a bit of information. Then next month, CoroCoro will come out, revealing it again (for their readers) and give a bit more information.

    Also, watch it be the Wii game Iwata hinted at xD

      I think this is probably correct, given that E3 lies in between.

      My prediction:
      The May reveal will probably give some very vague early comments and rumours about the direction of the game. E3 may show some short clips and ‘strongly hint’ at certain features. The July 15th CoroCoro article will probably expand on a couple of these features – perhaps featuring an interview.

    Even if it isn’t for the Nintendo 3DS we should still be happy that Nintendo or Corocoro for the most part is going to be confirming something about the Pokemon game. I would get the Pokemon game even if it was a cheap Pokemon Mystery Dungeon with the 5th generation starters on it. I would love to see how a Pokemon Collesuem/XD remake would look on the Nintendo 3DS though.

    But we should still remember how we felt when Pokemon Black and White were being confirmed who knows what type of game it is we are going to be getting updates like the wave of Black and White updates last year. xD So yeah no hopes up or anything but let’s keep it in our thoughts and hope very little so that way we get disapointed very little when it turns out to be a Pokemon Revolution with the 5th generation Pokemon in it. :P

    I most likely think this is a wierd game (nothing the same with the others) a mystery dungeon, ranger, or a 3rd gen remake, on the 3rd gen remake note, I have noticed a pattern and predict it will happen, for example:
    RBY(G)>GSC>RSE>(now 3 game are out, remake the first)LF>DPP>(another 3 games, remake the first in this batch)HS>BW>(another 3 games, hopefully will remake RSE)
    or if you don’t understand that, here is a simpler version:
    1st gen>2nd gen>3rd gen>(3 gens, remake 1st gen)1st gen> 4th gen>(3 gens, remake the 2nd one)2nd gen>5th gen>(3 gens, hopefully they will remake 3rd gen)

      Yes which means we are overdue for a new game to be announced. Nintendo typically announces another Pokemon game shortly after the previous one is launched.

    Expecting it to be Pokemon Grey or whatever they will call the Meta-game for the newest generation. If not that, I don’t know. Just hoping the first Pokemon game on the 3DS isn’t a port of a console game (though, as has been mentioned, we don’t know if this is DS, 3DS or Wii yet).

I don’t want the first 3DS Pokemon game to be a port of one of the console games- for some reason they never really interested me as much as the ‘classic’ Pokemon games did- but then I suppose we don’t know if this is for the DS, 3DS, Wii or anything else.

    I don’t think it’s gonna be a main series game. I hate spin-offs except for PMD and The Stadium/Shadow Saga series. I hope it’s one of them. :D
