Nintendo to host another conference for the 3DS on October 21st

Satoru Iwata has announced that Nintendo will be hosting another major conference for the 3DS this Friday on October 21st. It will be live streamed via UStream and will apparently deliver news that wasn’t mentioned at the previous conference. You can click here to find the official website for the conference. What do you think will be announced or shown off?

As an example of what to expect from the event, Nintendo mentioned details on the 3DS system’s November firmware update and Mario Kart 7′s wireless play support.

The stream kicks off at 8pm on October 21st. That’s in Japanese time.

I believe it might just be a recap on all the software being released in the coming months. I mean with thd PS Vita coming out on Feb. 22nd… They have to remind the 3DS fanbase why we should still be excited for it.

This is DEFINITELY in response to the global release dates of the Vita finally being announced. Nintendo understands that a questionable “slider pad” isn’t going to sway many “on the fence” gamers, and what they need now is some definitive release dates for some major games, as well as major content additions.

I’m hoping for a surprise…even if it means obtaining new information that I couldn’t care less about, I just want to hear something new.

Vita is being released on December 17 in Japan. I think that’s the release date Nintendo is worried about right now, not the North American/European release.

@mike s While the release date is the 17th in Japan, Nintendo’s slider peripheral+Revelations comes out around the same time here in North America as the PS Vita. Seeing as that combo is trying to become next year’s 3DS’ selling point, they’ve got a lot of competition coming their way.

I remember when the PSP came with one analog stick, no one said anything, then why people blame the 3DS for having one analog stick? the slider pad is an optional accessory and you won’t have to buy it to enjoy the 3DS titles, so stop blaming the 3DS for having one analog stick and think about the touch screen as an optional stick too…

999 is my main evidence for Nintendo’s consoles not being just for kids. It may not show anything, but some of the descriptive gore in that game outstrips seeing Kratos pull a titan’s nails out or peel a god’s hamstrings off his legs.

I just want to point out a couple of things.

-The game saves when you go back in time
-Statues are temporary saves and allow travel to make up for 3 day time limit
-You can slow down time so time limit is longer and bunny hood makes you run faster.
-It lacked dungeons and bosses but was first zelda game that allowed re-fighting of bosses
-Bomb mask (pwns with shield), Giants mask, Stone mask, Transformations and Feirce Deity Link >:D
-Fairy Sword!!! PWNS
-Koolah Limpah!! and Keatons
-The ability to turn the earth into the sky and vise versa.
-6 Bottles O.o
-Toilet Hand Guy…. (weirdest ever)
-but wait, there’s too much more!

I’m more concerned what the rest of the GBA Ambassador games are, not really when. Everyone got hyped for the NES ones, but to my surprise the second half didn’t hold up as much as the first. Donkey Kong Jr. and NES Tournament Golf just disappointed me.

The GBA games are looking great, but how long will it last? M vs. DK and M: Fusion are my most anticipated ones.

I’m in Utah and the time for me will be Thursday 20th at 7am (correct me if I’m wrong). I’m sure the major announcements of this one will be the video capture feature for the November update, and POSSIBLY (hopefully) at least some of the GBA Ambassador game list. Perhaps a few release dates thrown in there too.

It was crazy with that rumor about Metroid: Dread. I would love that if that game was in the making. We want to celebrate Samus somehow!

For those of you who don’t know, Metroid Dread was a rumored game to be coming out with it set somewhere after the events of the Metroid Prime series (including Hunters). It was most likely, or supposedly, to be after Fusion, but since it was never released: nobody knows. Hints to the other game were given in Prime 3 on the homeworld of Space Pirates. It was going to be a “2.5-D” or 2D metroid game. Most people believe it may still come out because of Other M. This is because every “risky” Metroid game they have released was coupled with a 2D game to fall back on. Prime was with Fusion, Prime 2 was with Hunters (demo: first hunt), Prime 3 wasn’t a risk because of the popularity of the first two primes, and now Other M. At the time of the rumor, things went well, so it was stated that no 2D Metroid game was being planned: so it seems like a joke. It could still happen though.

I found the last conference to be a bit of a bust (exception, MH4) , but this is kinda short notice, maybe they were planning on doing all this before but people got digging and some stuff got out so they gathered a whole notha’ collection of goodie announcments….. that’d be awesome.

Confirmed Eshop demos
Confirmed DLC( preferably for resident evil and street fighter)
And
Confirmed online-messaging system.

Kaizar, The reason there isn’t anything pokemon related is because the website itself isn’t made yet and the thing there is a place holder by the company that is making it….

They (probably) just bought the domain name and begun work on the website… I am sure it will launch after the conference if there is an announcement for the game…
