Nintendo and PDP to release official, Nintendo-themed cases for the iPhone

Nintendo and PDP have teamed-up to release Nintendo-themed cases for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. They won’t be available until October, but in the mean time, they can be seen after the break.

      I used to have the red OoT 3D case. Problem is, I am so bad with my electronics, that all the color has worn off. Now its black, which actually is not all that bad.

      There are like a million different Android phones. It’s much easier to design for the iPhone 4 (especially since it’s the same design as the iPhone 4S).

      If you are serious, PDP is making the cases, not Apple. And it’s only a case, not a game. Nintendo has allowed other companies to make merchandise for them before. (Me being the nerd I am have such stuff :P most of which being official and made by another company)

      Game and software (such as the eShop itself) and cases are, essentially, different business-wise. When fans get the case, it’s basically a profitable form of advertising for Nintendo.

      Not sure if anyone remembered but the ZombiU video with Non-Specific Action Figure had the nerdy guy use his phone to get notifications on some sort of Ninento App. Perhaps this is marketing for iPhones to increase the ammount of casuals who want to buy the Wii U?

      I doubt it. One thing to note is that PDP is making the case with approval from Nintendo. Besides, when fans get the case, it’s basically a profitable form of portable advertising for Nintendo. It’s also good that the Nintendo brands and IPs are being seen on more places instead of just the gaming systems. This increases popularity. But since Nintendo brands are games at heart, I doubt Nintendo brands would ever appear as games on other platforms.

      I would take an HTC phone over an iPhone with a Nintendo case anyday.

      I would rather just buy Nintendo decals and put it on my phone instead. There’s some pretty nice ones out there. That way my phone wouldn’t be bigger because of a dumb case.

      Indeed. And why not make cases for the iPhone? It’s good advertisement. The only problem I have is that the cases on the pics above are ugly as hell. Or maybe not ugly, but out of place. I mean the iPhone looks very good, why would I ruin it with a Mario Kart 7 case? But now I’m over thinking it. Children are the obvious target here.

      Egghollo, Zelda games ‘are’ great, the game memories that you recollect from your youth are memories you’ll keep forever and in your mind, nothing comes close, but the same goes for todays youth, they’re out there making the same memories as you did, enjoying video games.

      Each zelda game is a classic, but they’ll never come close to your favorite of the series.

      Ocarina of time was my childhood zelda. And my first video game. But I prefer majoras mask (beat it last year), wind waker and skyward sword. Twilight sucked. It simply didt have that zelda magic. Anyway, childhood games get boring for me after awhile. Seriously, I think I’ve beat ocarina aroud 50 times

      @RIVER I do agree with you, but I didn’t mean that Zelda has become bad now. It’s just Twilight and Skyward isn’t really great in my opinion, especially twilight. The DS Zeldas was awesome though.
