New Cave Story 3D screenshots, first glimpse at the in-game graphics

We’ve got our first solid look an the in-game graphics of *Cave Story 3D*. A couple of other screenshots and the entire scan from *Nintendo Power* are after the break. What do you think?

      Well I played the wiiware version and it is very addicting.(or atleat I think it is)

      It’s free for the PC, just google it and try it out. If you still think it isn’t anything special after you’ve played it, you’ll know that you aren’t a hardcore gamer anymore.

    Ehh… Not too excited about this; doesn’t look very impressive. But then again, I never heard of Cave Story so I don’t understand the hype.

      Go play it. Its a free PC game. Get the english patch. It is fantastic. By far my most favorite PC game of all time, and pretty freaking close to my most favorite game period.

      yeah! you should play it, if you don’t find the game you can search “doukutsu” which is the japanese name and then search for the patch, it’s a great game!

      Do what they say! The power of the most awesome game (or one of the most awesome!) every compels you!

      Anyone finish it with Best Ending? That’s probably the most hardcore level of any game, ever! (Beating the “Hell” stages and beating the final final boss.)

      Beaten the best ending on the DS… anyone done that? I want to know. I have not been able to.

      But yeah, this is simply one of the best games ever, and while these screenshots may not be impressing me nearly as much as the last ones, it still looks awesome.

    Man just realized my issue of Nintendo Power had this article…. I purposely left out that portion of the magazine so I could read it closer to the 3DS’s launch (to pass the time while I wait ^ ^).

    While we’re at it, I might as well skim a couple other articles…. hmm…. better read this article about Starfox…. 2 new modes….. 4-player multiplayer with new weapons and stuff….. new Score attack mode where you beat your own score…. Resident Evil The Mercenaries has 2-player online co-op…. Cave Story 3D summer release date….
    There’s more but this is probably the most important. I don’t want to give everything away! :D

      I did win a giveaway off iPhoneDownloadblog.com a few days ago though. Won a ZAGGsparq! All I need to do now is buy a 3DS USB charger, and the 3DS’ll have a 25 hour battery life! ^ ^

      And the Starfox article is really short, it’s just a small paragraph. That’s all the new news it says. David you see this? This is important! I’m sending an email….

      @dsiderreck6 The ZAGGsparq is a portable battery system. It gives 4+ charges. :D

    I’m excited for the new style, too. It looks like it’s greatly improving the original atmosphere.

    Considering this as another remake with a little polishing on the graphics, I would only like to suggest that they should make a sequel, not a remake. Of course, many of us knows that many gamers already played it, so what’s the point of bringing it to another platform? If it is a sequel, I’m in it…

      well I doubt that many kids outside of japan have ever even heard of cave story I just downloaded it on my computer today and thought that it was so awsome

    Well that wouldn’t be the graphics getting worse. It would be the art style changing, it lost some of its original charm.

    Also if you don’t know what is so great about this game then you have enough of a variety in the games you play.

    It’s sad because the concept art looked a million times better than this, I was expecting some great graphics with glossy surroundings and I ended up seeing this instead, maybe I expected too much…

    The egg corridor level looks nice, but what level is that last screen shot? Is that bushlands!?!? IT LOOK HORRIBLE. I know these are probably gonna be polished later on but i’m worried so far.
    I’m playing through hell in the game right now. SO HARD!!!
