Shigeru Miyamoto has told EDGE Magazine that he would like to remake a classic Zelda title for the 3DS, specifically singling out *A Link to the Past* as his preffered choice. He went on to say:

But being unfamiliar with *Xevious* I’m a little unsure of what he’s actually saying. Nevertheless, it’s sounds like *Ocarina of Time 3D* won’t be the last remake of Zelda to grace our glorious 3D displays. Of course, an original Zelda at some point would be great too, but there’s still plenty of time for that.

If so, I would hope they would do the same thing with the DKC games, adding the 3D-effect. My life would be SO perfect if that happened.
Well actually, there is 3DSWare, Virtual Console, and Classic Games.
Virtual Console is where you play Gameboy and GBA games, in 2D.
Classic Games is where you play NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) and Super NES, remastered in 3D.

So, Will, I dont really think you’ll be getting a 3D DKC remake, but a 2D one. Although, Seeing How Donkey Kong Country returns came out, one may come out for 3DS.

I’ve never played “A Link to the Past” before, but it must be really good if Miyamoto wants to remake it. How would that work though, would it still be from an overhead POV, or would it be brought to 3D… I dunno.
A Link to the Past is a good game. Some argue that it is even better than Ocarina of Time.

But he is blond in the official artworks for this game. I wonder why that is? Maybe the pink is just part of his hat or something?
The palette used for Link’s sprite had the wrong color for his hair or something. I don’t believe it was intentional.
I think the real reason is because blond or dirty blond wouldn’t stand out enough in contrast to his skin,
I once recoloured one of his sprites to be blonde, and I could barely tell the hair and skin apart.
Link to the Past is near perfect as it is, I don’t see how it could be made better, except for better graphics like in Four Swords Adventure, and the ability to roll, also from that game (and Four Swords and Minish Cap).
Either way, I think this was just theoretical, I doubt they will remake this game, I want new games! Although a Link to the Past remake would be nice, but only if they drastically changed it, like remaking it as a 3D Zelda game.
well they definatly will remake a zelda game, if you still have the manual from the 3ds, on one of the pages it will tell you about the E-shop (mostly aobut its remake games) and it shows super mario land and zelda game of which I forgot its name

My mom played this game while she was pregnant.. If memory serves right, I came out playing this game and have been ever since. This is my favorite Zelda and favorite video game.

Yep, but that’s a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, so it’s rational to do OoT as a warm up.

link to the past is the perfection of the formula in the series,any zelda after it just a copy from that formula,ocarina is link to the past in 3d that why i feel that new zeldas feel short or missing something because is hard to replicate that formula.ocarina did a good job in plaicing that formula in 3d just like mario 64 but any zelda to this day do not surpass the perfection of link to the past.

I want this to happen, though I would prefer the Oracle games because I can see Nintendo passing those by since they were much less known. If they do redo A Link to the Past, though, an all-out 3D remake would be pretty awesome, but at least I hope they change Link’s hair to brown instead of that dreadful pink.
