Lots of Animal Crossing screenshots (and a new trailer)

*Animal Crossing* is not playable at E3, so that’s a shame. But to hold you over for the moment there’s a heap of screenshots after the break along with the official trailer from E3.

      ^^^^ wrong actually, maybe you could in the wii version but not any other. the only one i didnt play was the wii one so…..

      The Wii one you could only change your shoes downtown when the Skunk kid was there. You couldn’t just change on your own like you owned different pairs of shoes. Also, I don’t think you could change pants, because girls still only wore dresses in the Wii version.

      Actually in the WII version you can SHINE your shoes to color your shoes but you couldn’t change them.

    I loved Wild World, and it looks like this is shaping up to be really nice too. And I’m diggin’ all the Zelda cameos in the upcoming games.

    Cool! I hadn’t seen some of these screenshots!
    City Folk seemed more like a port of WW with updated graphics and very few other improvements. Thus why I didn’t buy it. This one looks like it actually added and changed more stuff so I’m really looking forward to it!

    Does the lack of a playable demo mean that there is little chance that the game will be released this year? I mean, I am not sure Of Nintendo’s E3 history. Have they ever not had a demo for a game out later that same year? Dying to play this and don’t want to have to wait.

    completely off topic, but i got an e-mail from nintendo and it says one of the games anounced at e3 was professor layton and the last specter; it even has an oficial logo, but when i go to nintendo’s e3 website it isn’t there… weird

    Is there going to be a zelda cameo is every new 3ds game? If so, that would be awesome. I want this, even though I’ve never played, nor even know about it’s previous titles. Never to late to learn :3

      The Zelda stuff is not really new content. The Link hat and shirt were both in city folk, as was the master sword. Animal Crossing always has in game nintendo swag, since the first installment. That’s part of why it is amazing.

      The Pikmin planter was my favorite from City Folk, though.

      @Jonny Epidemic: I’m not saying Pokemon games are bad, but I think that you shouldn’t have put Pokemon in that sentence merely because Pokemon is nothing to be embarrassed about. Basically, you said you bought Call Of Duty with pride. In case I’ve lost you there, you said you bought a good game with pride. Basically I’m saying that Pokemon is and always will be a good game.

      You walk in that GameStop, you hold your head up high, you show your 3DS with pride, and you buy that game! If they laugh, just know that THEY’RE the immature ones. Don’t even let it phase you, because they feed on that.

      Laughing at someone for their personal taste in a game just to feel better about themselves? Losers. They’re just trying to be cool by joining ridicule.

      I’m 24, and like Jonny, I’m certainly gonna buy this game. So know that!

    ilove it. cant wait to get it. it has all the things i want and maybe more. notice that in the old animal crossing games the female brown arch eyes are shown in the screen sot as blue and also as black so maybe you can customize eyes & color. when they go swimming the people also where no shoes xD and i think that now when you first move to the town you live in a tent cuz’ you are poor and need to eventually build one.

      No those tents were in the first game for the gamecube, in summer diffrent villagers move into you town for a day in a tent, and you can play games with them, in december they do the same thing but in igloos

      Considering all the characters are cute and funky and quirky, I don’t think it really matters if they’re only white. I mean, come on, this game was made by Asian people.

      Japan is a homogeneous society where everyone looks similar to each other. Besides the occasional tourist, they can go their whole lives without seeing people from other nationalities.

      Though some developers do try to keep the issue in mind, and with the exception of characters of distinct nationalities (like Mario the Italian plumber), the race issue is not as sensitive an issue in Japan as it is over here in the West.

      I don’t think it’s anything intentional or degrading meant with them with this. And I mean, they weren’t exactly going for realism here. They’re aiming for more a concept than representation with AC anyways.

      They just made simple little normal tan characters and weren’t really concerned with expression ethnically differentiated characters here. I’m a “black” dude and I don’t mind. (Well, I’m more a “mocha with cream and cinnamon,” but anyways…)

    I think ive discovered some facts about this from the trailer. First, since he walks out a tent, that means you can choose a type of house. Also when you jump into the water, it shows the character dive. it looks like he is just diveing a little deeper to swim, but actually if you pause it at the point, he is going into the ground and his body is about halfway through before the scene changes. I think this may mean that it was about to load a minigame or underwater map for deep sea scooba diving where you swim around under the sea and view fish and stuff…but im probably reading way too much into it :P theres also some other more obvious things ive noticed.

      Exactly! And I’m pretty sure there were Zelda items in AC Gamecube as well!
      What I’m more exited for is the fact that you can wear boots! And change pants! (was that in City Folk already? I didn’t play it…) and put furniture on the walls! And the new graphical style in general!

      I think the interest in it is kinda renewed with the renewed interested in Ocarina of Time 3DS. It’s not entirely new, but it has a renew interested.

    I remember when I first saw Animal Crossing I was always thinking it was dumb but when I looked at the guidebook I had to get it it was so awesome and it was the GC version and I have the DS version and I have the Wii version and now I’m getting the 3DS version the day it comes out just like I did with the DS and Wii version:D

    David, hey there. Met you yesterday. Animal Crossing IS actually playable at E3 – there’s a girl walking around near the front of the line to the 3DS demo stations who’s got a copy. She offered to let me play, then told me they also had it at the top of the ramp. Which of course, they did not. But, since I didn’t play any single player Kid Icarus today, I will probably go back tomorrow after I check out PS Vita. It just sucks the only way to play it is tethered to a person who obviously doesn’t want to be there! Anyway. Maybe I’ll run into you again tomorrow.

      Hmm. Turns out I was imagining it, or the girl was a moron, or both. I distinctly remember her offering to let me play it, but when I went back yesterday, nobody on the floor knew anything about it being playable. I’m guessing the girl was just offering to let me watch the 3D trailer, though I don’t remember a huge play button being displayed on the bottom screen.

      Oh, well. E3′s over!

    Swimming and a change of clothes? Awesome additions. Cant wait to see what else is new. I’ll probably put a lot of time into this game once it comes out especially for the wifi. Wild world on the DS was fun because of wifi as long as you had good friends

    well at last nintendo made good changes, i mean in shoes, pants, also in the character too they made them taller…but why would we need swimming, but..maybe there are some islands near the city :D (i hope so)

    This looks like it’s finally been upgraded from WW. City Folk was alright, but other than the city it was basically Wild World. I especially love the mushrooms, lamps, and benches. Those little aesthetics are very pleasing. Swimming might also be cool, but I have no idea what I’ll do if I’m swimming and Jaws comes up to me. Maybe they’ll add harpoons to the game as well.

    God i love Animal Crossing, ever since the Gamecube version… i was in elementry class and we had to write a letter to a Buiseness/famous person. so i wrote to Nintendo and praised animal crossing cuz it had just come out. Anyway, this one looks awesome.. it reminds me of the original

    I am going to so get this game! I can’t wait for it to be released! The swimming aspect seems really really awesome! It seems like Nintendo is giving us what we wanted now. And all it took was more than half of the players on Animal Crossing: City Folk to hack their Wiis because they wanted to go swimming, and such. Hurray! I also like how we can now change our; pants & shirts. And how we can place the clocks on our walls…I wonder if we’ll be able to hang up our designs on the walls of our house, that would be awesome. I’m also wondering about how the fish will react when we are swimming in the ocean…will they just run away or just stay there and ignore us, or are the fish disabled while we are in the ocean.

    I also am wondering what types of new fish and bugs will be available to catch, and how we are going to be able to visit other people’s towns.

    Either way I am going to go get this game when it is released! I have been waiting for more information on this game ever since it was hinted at eons ago. (Exaggeration I know.)
