A Japanese product designer has tweeted that:
> “On November 20th, the 11 goods I designed for use with the 3DS will go on sale simultaneously. Those of you buying the 3DS, please buy them while you’re at it! This will be officially announced on the homepage eventually, lol. Best regards.”
The designer appears to work with keysfactory, a company that manufactures accessories for Nintendo DS consoles such as screen guards, cases and chargers (view their catalogue). The tweet itself has since been deleted and replaced with a much more vague tweet that reads:
> “OIRA is designed to place 20 11 11 3DS product will be released simultaneously for the product.”
The common thread, however, is the use of the word simultaneously. Clearly, he believes the products he’s designed will be available at the launch of the 3DS. It would be fairly strange to make a mistake of when his own products were going to be released.
What do you think? A mid-November release date would be consistent with previous rumours and, based on Nintendo’s scheduling of events (with the release date and price being announced on September 29th), it’s not particularly farfetched. Is this a genuine leak, or merely a bizarre slip of the tongue?
**Update**: As WildDown, a Japanese reader points out, this release date would tie in with Nintendo’s previous launch days. Here’s what he had to say:

This does seem linked to play.com listed Dragonball as 20th november. It’s a rumour but it’s a solid one even though they said it was speculation they would have taken it down by now but they haven’t.

I’d like to point out that KeysFactory has worked recently with Nintendo in the development of Thruspace, a WiiWare game… Maybe they know when the console is released thanks to it?

Acctualy David Nintendos trend recently has been to release new literation of consoles in the us and japan first but they have gotten consoles out in multiple regions quickly. take a look at these launch dates.

Although that isn’t by any means a guaruantee that it will launch in North America first. Keep in mind that the majority of Nintendo’s systems (including all post-original versions of the DS) were released in Japan first. Plus, considering this is a Japanese tweet, it is not unreasonable to think it possibily has more relevance to Japanese customers rather than their non-Japanese counterparts.
Having said that, however, the reason why the Wii/DS were released in North America first was so they could coincide with the Black Friday shopping spree. Considering this year’s Black Friday will occur on November 26th, it WOULD be beneficial for Nintendo if the system launched in North America a few days prior.
I don’t know. It could go either way. We won’t know for certain until Nintendo itself makes the announcement on September 29th.

Im 99% sure because, although they havent got the release date for the 3DS or any other games except Gundam 3DS, play.com has the release date for Dragonball 3DS as the 20th november, the exact same date.

Just a reminder for everyone: manufacturing Nintendo 3DS devices takes time, there is a chance that the 3DS will launch on Nov 20th in Japan but I think we in US/Europe will have to wait a while longer. But of course I would love to have it as soon as possible :D

I believe Paper Mario and Kid Icarus will be available at launch at least. Kid Icarus…just…because. And Paper Mario because of the 3-year-gap between games in a franchise. It’s a pattern. Paper Mario: 2001. Paper Mario 2: 2004. Super Paper Mario: 2007. We’re DUE this year.
Whereas with games like Mario Kart and Animal Crossing, the last installments of those came in 2008, making 2011 their year.

He didn’t say the 11 products would be released simultaneously WITH the 3ds. He probably meant that all 11 items will be released simultaneously. Accessories often get released before the console does. And the reason the tweet was deleted and replaced with different wording…simple…probably because he realized he worded himself poorly the first time.

The computers for Gamestop have added the Nintendo 3DS in the system now, along with 18 games and 14 acessories listed as available for taking pre-orders on Sept 29th.
They also have a listed a shipping date of Nov 22nd. (Since postal services are out on weekends, the Nov 20/2010 Sat is the most logical release date, as the orders would be delivered on Monday the 22nd)
