According to this article, UK Gaming magazine GamesMaster has published the first review for Resident Evil: Revelations in the January 2012 edition. The reviewer gave it a 91%, describing the game as ““the game to convince Resi fans that the series is back to its best” and “one of the scariest games ever committed to handheld, and a spectacular return to form.” You can read the article here, but for now, we’ll have to wait for the full review next month.

That’s a great score. Planning to pick this up along with the infamous Second Circle Pad accessory.

  • royspceghst

How the f%#”ck can they write a review of the game so early?, I mean, haven’t even heard of that magazine before. Even tho’ it’s always good to hear how amazing it will be ;D

    • phearo

      I know, right?

    • Belinni

Usually games are done a month or two before it’s launch and some magazines/famous websites get early copies of the game so they can review it. The issue was supposed to come out later so I guess someone let this info slip by accident!

    • Jubei-x

GamesMaster is one of the best UK magazines and it has been around for many years so if you don’t know it, that’s just you. The latest issue is issue 246. Divide that by 12 and you’ll get the years it has been around.

  • Recoil

Nice to know they’ve brought the scariness back into the series. I might not have the guts to play this with headphones on :P

    • Belinni

I was afraid of Resident Evil 4 when I was a kid. Now I remember that all the enemies have set patterns and that I can just retry from the checkpoint (aka every single door in the game).

Not too sure about this one, the bullets didn’t seem to really stop those monsters in the demo, they just kept walking towards me till they died!

  • readyletgo

    Nice one!

This is the next game I have on my to buy list!
Going to Get it with the circle/slide pad add on.

Roll on the 27th Jan 2012!!!!!

    This has online play right?
Seems to be a good few characters in the game for online play!

Anyone know if this game will be €50 with the addon or will it be even more? like €60?

  • http://www.csfgpapercraft.com/wp Seb

It WILL be among the best 3DS titles in its life time I bet. + the sales! o.O

  • DaveTheHutt

GamesMaster is a long-standing UK games magazine, used to be huge but, like most print mags, is not as popular as it used to be. It’s a reasonably reputable source.

It was a spin-off from the GamesMaster TV show, that used to run on UK telly back in the 90s.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!! :D The 3DS really needs this!!!!!!!! A game that proves Nintendo’s promise of catering to “hardcore gamers” this generation :)

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/LuajKaubProductions?feature=mhee luajkaub

yes, very true, the 3DS needs to cater more to the hardcore audience, dude, 3D is already catered towards hardcore because the age recommendation of 3D is above 6 years old.

TO ALL THE PEOPLE IN MY FRIENDS LIST, I’m thinking about clearing out my friends list to cut down on the number of people, if you don’t want to be deleted, just say so and you will be kept. I will also keep you if I either talk to you a lot through the blog or I see you a lot online, so not everyone needs to answer this. I will be clearing out my list this coming Sunday or Monday.

    • Mike S

      My Mii’s name is Michael.

    • Mike S

If you reply through the blog, tell me your Mii’s name so I know who you are. You can also just add an “X” in front of your friends list messages so i know to keep you.

WHY AM I NOT BRITISH? my bdays jan 29th >_<

  • bayou billy

I am very skeptic about this title, will wait for some serious reviews before getting it, i mean it has got a lot of attention, we saw some really cool trailers, but they are just impressive cinematics, not showing enough of actual gameplay. Capcom often disappoints gamers, for example i played the demo included in mercenaries, and it’s graphics were worse than the mercenaries. Is this iteration of franchise going to be worth paying 50 bucks? Somehow i really doubt it..

    • http://gravatar.com/elffcc Big E

…That demo was VERY EARLY gameplay from when Capcom first showed the game over a year ago, hence the title PILOT VERSION. In my opinion the demo looked AND played like a dream (Almost literally).

    • Kiba

I thought the demo looked better then Mercenaries, plus it was still in development by that time. They show gameplay in the trailers so I wouldnt say they havent shown any gameplay. It is looking very good and I dont think it wont be disappointing, especially now after reading this review.

    • Szayel

Lol wut? This game has graphics that far surpass mercs. Are you blind?

    • reggie fils-aime

yeah i agree with this guys
revelations demo had better graphics than merc

    • moo

      Reggie :o

  • L1qu1d

Not buying this until it drops to 39.99 in price. I don’t care what size the card is, they are a dime a dozen:)

I loved Mercs, but I know that Capcom has something sinister for each game they sell.

They are worse than Activitions :D

    • http://gravatar.com/elffcc Big E

First off: It’s Activision, not Activitions. Second: The carts are NOT a “Dime a Dozen”. They DON’T use SD format, they are proprietary (Specially designed for use ONLY for whatever they are made for). They cost more money than whatever memory format you’re thinking of, especially when game companies need more memory to fully develop a game to what they want. Nintendo has put a limit cap on higher memory until they become cheaper to make…Unless game companies fork over enough money to use more memory like Capcom (Most likely) did with this game.

    • Kiba

They are not worse than Activision, and there are plenty of sites selling the game for 39.99 so please stop trolling.

    • L1qu1d

Clearly it was a typo, and you did it as well with the word “carts” which is cards, Now I go by what retail has it at.

But your right They aren’t worse than Acti, they are MUCH worse, reselling us the same game over and over again. At least activision has the decency to change the story, the tactics, the maps and present a semi new game. (although i hate the cod series since MW 2).

I’m not trolling, I’m expressing frustration. I am a big Resident Evil fans, and if this had story coop I might have still forked over the money even if it was 60$, but I just think that they released a quick buck with Mercs and then we get a game that packs mercs into it for an extra 10$.

My opinion stands, the game is too expensive.

I like the release style of Nintendo:

      $39.99 new game
      $29.99 Sometime after release/DS game
      $19.99 Budget Titles
      $9.99 Crap like Asphalt 3D

    • http://gravatar.com/elffcc Big E

@L1qu1d Some people call them carts..as in cartridges. If it was your opinion, you should have put “In my opinion” (Or something similar) in your comment. You have every right to be mad…That “release style of Nintendo” applies only to the Nintendo DS games, not 3DS. Besides, why fix something that isn’t broken?

    • L1qu1d

It absolutely applies, I mean 90% of 3DS games are 40$ at launch. This is the first game that hit 50$ out of all the 3Ds games.

We’ll see, most likely I will buy it, but I hate the company with a passion.

    • http://gravatar.com/elffcc Big E

Oh, S***. My fault on that. Now I see. When you said “Nintendo style” I thought you were referring to what they were doing before the 3DS was released…There were several DS games priced higher than usual: FFCC: Ring of Fates/Echoes of Time, Chrono Trigger, and I think The World Ends With You and Final Fantasy III/IV. All are great games (And they just so happen to be published/developed by Square-Enix)…You hate the company with a passion…Is it because of MML3 being canceled?…Just guessing.

    • L1qu1d

      @big E

Bingo, that and many re releases. It just seems they are caring less and less about the consumer and more and more about their pocket. I was waiting for the New Megaman for ages. :(

    • L1qu1d

Also wanted to add, I know a lot of companies care about their money (actually all) but I just hate it when they say “F” you to your face as though yah we know you’ll buy our game so shut up and dance for me “slut” lol.

I like it when companies try to hide the fact that they want our money…its called being polite! :P

    • http://gravatar.com/elffcc Big E

…I’m no slut…They know we are going to buy the game. I know I am. The main reason I bought RE: Mercenaries 3D is because of its co-op online multiplayer. It’s impossible for someone to spam the same moves against you (I’m looking at YOU SSFIV: 3D Edition)…Anyway, why do you think companies re-release games? People practically beg for them. Question: What gave Resident Evil 5 its high replayability? Answer: Many people agree it is the Mercenaries mode. Going for high scores, especially with a partner. That’s what makes Mercenaries 3D great (Minus the fact it was ONLY Mercenaries, no Versus/4-player mercenaries versus…Which added even more replayability in RE 5…). Besides, there is still a chance DLC is coming for the game…(Please bring Leon and Sheva! PLEASE!)

    • Neoxon

Continuing what Big E said, on top of Capcom going above Nintendo’s memory limit cap on their carts, they look to be making the most of the extra 2GB of space.

  • S.F.Rizzi

If marketed right, this game could be huge and a system seller, I’ve been impressed with all the videos I have seen so far, all it needs is some kick Ass commercials to have people wanting

Oh, yeah! This is more good news for the 3DS. :D

  • http://noodlelinksblog.blogspot.com Noodle

Great to see that the game has turned out as great as it looked, at least from one reviewer’s perspective. I’ll definitely be getting this, one of my most anticipated 3DS games yet!
