Epic Mickey 2: Power of Illusion coming to 3DS?

Nintendo Magazine France has tweeted that Epic Mickey 2: Power of Illusion for the 3DS is set to be revealed next week. The game would seemingly be a companion to the console version of Epic Mickey 2. For now this is just a rumor, but given that a reveal for Epic Mickey 2 has been hinted as coming next week, this could turn out to be true. But we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

    I heard that the first game didn’t really do well… but I honestly don’t know cause I didn’t buy the game. Maybe someone can tell me how it is and if they think this series deserves a second game XD

      You missed out, it’s a really fun platformer with moral choices that actually change gameplay and game endings. It’s also a pretty decent history lesson on Micky Mouse (and friends) and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit if you care to delve into the collection pieces. Seriously if you’re a fan of platfomers, Micky Mouse, Disney or any combination of the three, you owe it to yourself to play it.

      The “moral” choices barely made any difference, and the platforming mechanics were painfully bad along with one of the worst third-person cameras ever seen in a video game.

      There was a lot of potential there, but Warren Spector really blew it.

      I’d prefer a little variety to the 3DS library, we all know a Pokemon game is inevitable and the team behind Epic Mickey has nothing to do with Nintendo so I don’t understand why people complain despite the fact that they will get everything they want and more.

      It’s this little thing I call patience, usually it works out and it has the side benefit of turning you into a sage.

      @MarioMaster 7 thanks… I’m just expressing how I feel about the game… Don’t mind the game coming to the 3DS… I’m still not buying it… :) I’ve bought so far Ocarina of Time, Pokemon Rumble Blast, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil Mercenaries and Revelations. Had Mario Kart 7, but sold it… -_-

      They are making a 3rd Resident Evil 3DS.

      And 2 or more Zelda games for the 3DS.

      And they are spending years since 2009 for what to do with the 6th Gen Pokemon, but don’t expect it anytime soon at all.

      Although, I believe the two games you are speaking of to be fake. I think the leak came from 4chan. Wasn’t there a disconfirmation somewhere?

      I kind of doubt that Dead Space will come to the 3DS. It seems more likely to come to iOS (again) or the PS Vita. The 3DS hasn’t seen crap for western support- most of the good games are Japanese. Only good western games that come to mind are Bit.Trip, Nano Assault, and Cave Story 3D (the remake was made by an American company with help from Pixel- I guess it could be called a Japanese-American game). Most of the other western games have been shovelware or shoddy ports. The Vita has the opposite problem- mostly western support, and little Japanese support.

      The Western support seems to be going to the Wii U, but not so much for the 3DS.

      The Japanese support seems to be going to the 3DS, but not so much the Wii U.

      Now thats a good unintentional strategy.

    I actually quite liked Epic Mickey. It wasn’t quite as “Epic” as it could have been, but at the very least, it was ambitious, and appealed to my inner Disney-phile. Maybe this new installment can improve the camera problems the original had, and maybe add a new layer of polish. I do wonder if it will maintain the same paintbrush mechanic… I could see Spector giving this one an entirely new spin.

    As long as it isn’t another Mario game, I’m fine. I’m very fed up with Mario games for the 3DS. I just want games like Luigi’s Mansion 2 nad Animal Crossing 3DS… is that really too much to ask for Nintendo?

      Still, this game is made by Junction Point and uses Disney characters. It’s a pretty good game with pretty poor cameras.

      I’m curious too. Is it because you don’t want graphically superior versions on different consoles while the copies for Nintendo would be watered down? Is it that you do not competition? Or is it the fact that tacking on HD onto any game’s name is fundamentally stupid?

      Those HD collections are the greatest things ever.

      Improved graphics + cheap price (they’re usually around $20-30 less than normal $60 PS3 games) + 3 games (only one I can think of that’s just 1 is that soon-to-exist FF10 HD) = (a) PROFIT(able collection of HDness)

      So yeah. I question why anyone would dislike those HD remakes.

    Nintendo Power STRONGLY hinted at an Epic Mickey reveal of some sort in the upcoming issue….this could only mean we will see either a 3ds,wii-u,or both reveal of Epic Mickey 2.

    Despite some baised reviews, epic mickey was (litterally) one of the best games i’ve ever played. Not THE best, of course, but one of the best. Mostly because a majority of the puzzle solving reminds me of zelda, and the open world and characters do also. Although, i heard Epic Mickey 2 will most likely have voice acting if it is released, that may ruin the whole zelda vibe. Aside from that, though i think this’ll be a great game!
