Don’t give up on the hope for Monster Hunter Tri G in the west, but don’t expect anything at E3

It’s a long while since Monster Hunter Tri G for the 3DS was released in Japan. I expect it to arrive in North America and other regions at some point, and that seems to the sentiment of this Capcom staff member, but it’s also suggested it will take a while:

Hang in there, guys. Unfortunately nothing’s been announced for the West and I can’t tell you to hold your breath for E3 either. But Monster Hunter’s not done in the West. It’s just going to take a little longer for something to hit our shores.

And back to playing the waiting game we go.

      The reson capcom is skiping over monster hunter is because they want dragons dogma to take over monster hunter in the west. I FREAKING HATE IT.

    Capcom employes have been telling us Monster Hunter’s future is “bright” in the west for years now. I wouldn’t get my hopes up for anything.

    It might be canceled for N. America. Look what happened to MML3.

      MML3 was totally different. The lead developer left, and Capcom canned the project. MH games always take forever to get localized. Capcom just doesn’t care as much about western audiences when it comes to MH. It just doesn’t do a fraction of what it does in Japan.

    or at very least, localize monster hunter Tri on PSP.. we have waiting for a new gen monster hunter after freedom united like forever..

      i was like that too when i saw Megaman legends coming to the 3ds, the only reason why i got the 3ds, and it just gets cancel -.- yeah really sucks

    My guess is that 3G won’t get released in the west, but 4 will.
    Not such a big loss, the only reason I want 3G in the west is so that 4 can also be released around here.

      Yep, they do. Their IPs would be better off with another company, but alas, since people still give them money, we’re forced to put up with Capcom’s crap.

      dude, monster hunter tri on wii is easy, its only $20 too.

      try target and bestbuy, if you can’t find them, buy online.

      Well I’ve searched everywhere every time I got to a store like that… ‘cept Best Buy, never go there (nothing against it, just never go there. I ‘unno, just don’t) and I can’t really buy online… parents don’t trust stores on “teh interwebz” …. sooooo…. nch… yeah

    I really dont care about this MH, I care about MH4, but this one I have it on the Wii and it has online which makes it totally better

      this is an enhanced version of monster hunter tri. hence the G. Its the same as MHFU and MHF2 it adds a g rank quest line that is much more difficult then high rank quests.

      @ZimmerRemmiz – MML3 didn’t suck. A reviewer managed to play the prototype and said that it would have easily gained an 8/10 in review scores. Your argument is invalid

    I have to think this is not coming to the West or Europe. Let me explain.. the majority of this game is already localized. Only the new parts would need to be converted and I honestly can’t imagine it’s very much, so why is it taking forever? Because it’s simply not coming.. People mentioned they are adding on-line for the West version but I honestly can’t imagine Capcom doing this after the fact.. If it ever does happen, consider it a bonus at this point. I honestly don’t understand the business decision behind this though, Tri G sold very well on Wii and guess who the majority of 3DS owners are? That’s capcom for ya!

    They said the same thing about monster hunter freedom 3 (MHP3 in japan) i have been playing monster hunter for a long time and the games are amazing! unfortunately not very many people in the us play monster hunter so capcom decides to be lame and not localized monster hunter. They said all the same stuff about monster hunter freedom 3 but that was never localized. I hope MHTG gets localized because this will be a great game but i still want freedom 3 T_T

      Well to be fair about MhP3rd, HD specifically, we didnt get it because Sony were the dicks in that situation not Capcom. Capcom wanted to locallize portable 3rd but Sony insisted on having trophies and a bunch of other things that would have required a lot of extra time and money and it ended up pushing MH to Nintendo who are more localization friendly.

    I’ve given up on MH3G. No online mode and a lot of limitations but with lots of monsters (new and old) sounds fairly balanced, but MH4 sounds more promising.

    MOST OF THE GAME HAS ALREADY BEEN TRANSLATED IN THE ORIGINAL MONSTER HUNTER TRI!!!, seriously capcom stop making excuses and just hurry up. also to people who are saying that they’ll skip this game and wait for 4, think for a second, if tri G doesn’t sell well then they wont bother translating 4 at all since they assume no one wants monster hunter. we get dragons dogma as soon as its released, yet the extremely well known and popular monster hunter series has to wait this long just to even get the chance of localization, and regularly localizing the games would just make it even more popular in the west. i swear capcom just hate money or something -_- i’m trying to forgive you for megman legends 3, capcom AND all the other mh games you never localized, but you are just making it so hard for me..

    I hope that Gregaman is just trying to throw us off, it’s been so long since the last Monster Hunter localisation. It is quite fun to be optimistic.

    I will be really angry if that don’t bring monster hunter tri g to Europe and North America because this looks lots better than tri, having more monsters new weapons and armor and lots more and I’ve just finished tri which was brilliant fun MONSTER HUNTER TRI G MUST BE LOCALISED
