Resident Evil: Revelations is now $40

We reported that Resident Evil: Revelations would retail for $50 in North America because it uses a 4GB cartridge (compared to the usual 2GB cartridge), but Capcom has announced that they’re lowering the price of the game to $40. Does that make it anymore enticing? Or were you planning on picking it up anyway?

Yeah I played the game and it was actually quite boring. (don’t hate please :<) I never really like the way it switches between 3rd and 1st person.

You can make it not switch to 1st person.

I don’t know. It’s just this game does not really serve a purpose for me. Luigi’s Mansion is way more spookier, and first person shooters never really do much for me, they just seem pretty boring, all you do is shoot and knife.

@Palkiasv: You’re kidding right? I like the Idea and concept of luigi’s mansion, but in all honesty I don’t find it in any way spooky when compared to a RE game.

@ all bronies: Still don’t understand whats so great about that show, Saw 3 or 4 eps to see whats the deal about it and didn’t felt like watching it again, by the other hand, the memes that spawned from that show are 20% cooler than MS Paint Reaction faces & lolcats XD

Definitely makes it more enticing. I would’ve bought it at $50 anyways, but since it’s $40 I can just use up the rest of my GameStop credit without having to pay any cash. Wonder why they dropped the price- could be because of either the box art issue, or its Metascore of 82.

I doubt it was because of the metascore… There are games that get a metascore of 3 and still retail at full price…

…Or so that Capcom can get a bit more sales. I’ve never heard of a single game’s price being effected by reviews, specially when it has a good score on Metascore.

I doubted that it was the Metascore too- but it has happened before. Capcom said the reason for the price drop is that they originally wanted the game to cost $40, but they were required to price it at $50 because of the 4GB cart. According to their story, they negotiated with the powers that be, and were able to lower the price.

The game would have had a metascore of 87 but because of 4 reviewers (one of the reviewers doesn’t like that they went back to horror and the rest are pissed that its not on xbox and ps3)

I am playing it right now! Just bought it. The game is so much different of the demo. Graphics are better and the rooms from the demo(third episode actually) are tttaly different, with new objects.

Yeah! It’s a very great game. I really like it, too.
Especially playing with the Circle Pad Pro is good. I like it better than with the normal controls.

After RE4, I didn’t think Capcom would ever get the franchise back on track. My hopes were all crushed when I saw the trailer for “Mercenaries 3D” and “Op. Raccoon City”.

Then, I played the RE:R demo. I was pleasantly surprised by how much the game returns to the franchise’s roots. Sort of like “3D Land”, it reminds you what the franchise was originally about.

Just preordered.

Deff a good choice by Capcom…$50 bucks is way to much money for a portable game, they should never be the same price as a home console game. I was going to wait for a price drop before getting it but they just won me back with that move. All 3rd parties should take notes…..do not overcharge consumers and then blame it on the price of memory.

Back when the GameCube was around most games were from 59.99 to 79.99.

I say those prices were incredibly unfair! But I’m thankful that nowadays the prices for a game have dropped despite the fact that the quality of games and length have risen.

Call me old fashioned but 49.99 is still cheap to me.

Or if you ordered online, many retailers have a price guarantee that if the price of the game goes down before it’s released, you will pay the lower price.
