Animal Crossing 3D to be released on September 28th?

A listing for Animal Crossing on the 3DS has appeared on Amazon’s French website and has set the game’s release date to the 28th of September. The data found from retailers isn’t always the most accurate to work with, but I know how many Animal Crossing fans read this blog, so hopefully this can make you salivate for a little while longer until we have an actual release date.

    Mario tennis: information released, release date given in about 3 months

    Animal Crossing: information released, still no information after almost 2 years…WHAT? It’s annoying, haha. At least we have something now, but it’s not even official!

      Though to be fair, I’m sure Animal Crossing takes a whole lot more work, considering they have to localize every last word within the game, set up region specific holidays, and other things.

      I also agree that it is ridiculous that Mario Tennis got announced and will be released in less than a year, while AC has been announced for about 2 years…

      I COMPLETELY agree with you! It’s ridiculous! It would take less time, I know everything has to be localized, but still, they shouldn’t be that hard to localize! And what about Paper Mario 3D? Luigi’s Mansion 2? C’mon! And to top it all life, as you said, it’s been TWO years! It’s Animal Crossing for Pete the mailman’s sake!! :( Please let Nintendo release some more info on this game, anything would be good, anything! Besides it being cancelled that is!

      Nevermind that Mario Tennis was developed by Camelot and not Nintendo directly (it’s what you call a “second-party game”). That wouldn’t affect development at all or anything, nor would the fact that AC has probably 50x more content (or more) than Mario Tennis and would therefore, you know, take longer to develop? :T And that doesn’t even include translating, a HUGE portion of AC’s process, unlike Mario Tennis, which requires very, very little. Wouldn’t have any effect at all, nope. :/

      yeah but theres been a lot of other details like Street Pass. If u Street Pass with someone their house gets put into a seperate town where u can see all of the houses and you get to set a streetpass item u give to someone when u meet them and theres the bridge AND the railroad track so they might add the city back in plus the town is supposed to be 3x the size of the usual AC town and over 12 residents can stay in your town so i got enough info already but i need more haha :P ive been waiting since E3 2010 :(

    I’d rather it be sooner than September but if I MUST wait until September than I’d rather have it in September than in 2013. I just wish there was more news. And I’m hoping this will be discredited as a rumor and pushed forward.

    For whatever it’s worth, when I picked up Kid Icarus Uprising the clerk at GameStop (in USA) gave me a printed copy of release dates for several upcoming 3DS games.

    AC 3DS was among the listed titles and, if I recall correctly, the print out showed an August 2nd release date for the game. Whether this holds true or not, time will only tell.

      That is a placeholder date. Tell me, on this list, did Luigi’s Mansion and Paper Mario also have that date? That’s how you know. As a GS employee, I can tell you, GS does that all the time just to get a game on the list so people will start reserving it. I seem to recall all the major Nintendo titles having May 1st or some such as their release date for a long while, including Kid Icarus before it got street dated. I noticed they got bumped to August about a month ago.

      The post pretty much says this is only to placate the rabid fans who won’t stop whining about every other game just because it’s *not* AC. Me, as a non-whiny AC fan, would rather have “no news is good news” until the legit good news comes. Stuff like this just raises false hope.

    Lots of you people are getting all spazzy over a game because its been 2 years- Well suck it up! It’s not like they’re just replicating Animal Crossing for the DS over here, they have to make new character models for everybody, redesign the house system, expand the town and thus add in all these new, exciting features, and they have to set up the whole connecting with friends portion of the game, and I’m not even going to bother going into details about each and every aspect of the game they’re trying so hard to make perfect! The redesigned town layout, trees, flowers, outdoor furniture, etc.

    Lots of you guys just cant understand how hard it is to make an awesome game. Kid Icarus looked awesome. I got it 2 days ago. I’ve almost finished the story, with less than 10 hours of gameplay, heck Im willing to say that its probably less than 5 hours of gameplay. It looked good, it had the opportunity to be good, but it wasn’t as amazing as it should have been.

    Animal Crossing 3D looks good, it has the opportunity to be good, and will be even more amazing than we hope.

      If not, you really can’t say that they shouldn’t be done by now. Just like everyone else can’t say they should be done by now.

      I agree with you, I’d rather Nintendo take their time making this game because in reality Wild World was basically a DS remake of the GC one and City Folk was the Wild World but they added a city finally Nintendo is adding a ton of new stuff changing the overall map layout, New character models everything, this is the first Animal Crossings game besides the original that will be almost entirely from scratch. So I think no news is good news, Im hoping Nintendo doesnt give an official release date because I dont want them to feel rushed like they did with Mario Kart 7 (they had Waluigi Pinball but Waluigi wasnt a playable character) And if Nintendo does give a release date they will probably postpone it (for the better) and then all the fan boys will be little bitches!!! just wait and see how amazing this game will be, If you just let Nintendo take their time! Stop comparing it to Mario Tennis and how it already has a release date! Animal Crossing games are LOADED with content and this one is no exception, Mario Tennis isnt as loaded with content.

Although with the recent post about Mario Tennis on this blog, it appears that it will have character customisation and shows some really cool features we didnt know about. I was already going to pick up the game, due to my undying love for tennis and mario. xD. But yeah, Mario Tennis will get pretty boring pretty fast, lol. and yeah, Waluigi Pinball..but no waluigi, i suppose that didnt occur to me, lol. I really liked the customisation in Mario Kart 7, and the new characters, but I would have loved to have Waluigi, Bowser Jr and Birdo- among some of the other characters from Mario Kart Wii. Man, Mario Kart Wii had so many characters. I’ve had the game since launch and still havent got them all.. xD. Games are getting a little too short now though. I was disappointed when I finished Mario 3D Land, but then was really happy that i didnt actually finish it, and now had to repeat every level and vs Dry Bowser, but it was still very short.. Mario Kart 7 was mainly long because you had to get the kart parts, which took time, and it sucked that all the characters were unlocked with 150cc. I got Kid Icarus a few days ago and I’ve nearly finished that, etc. But, I suppose the games still keep me entertained for a while, and I can’t bring myself to sell them, and I dont know why. its like im attached to them. xD. *glares at the 60 Wii games on the shelf and the 150-or-so DS/3DS games*

It appeals to kids, but just because it has cartooney graphics and is rated “E”, doesn’t mean it HAS to be aimed towards children.

    This is the game other than Luigi’s Mansion 2 I’m looking forward to the most, fingers crossed we start getting some form of information about the game soon, an official release date for europe would be nice, nintendo have been very secretive about this title, I realise it takes along time to produce a game such as Animal Crossing but maybe there could have been details released about the game nearer the end of it’s production as this game has always felt like we are waiting a very long time for it. Although I think the wii version wasn’t released untill 2 years after the wii was launched. Still all good things come to those who wait.

    I do agree with most of the comments on her though, I would much rather Nintendo took their time to perfect the game, but even if a release date was given for maybe next year, at least it is something to look forward to. Mario Kart 7 is a good game, but nintendo did use retro studio’s to help finish the game, I believe this was so that the game could be released on the dates announced. Although I could be wrong.

    When Nintendo released first informations bout N3DS and I saw the trailer with 3 seconds of Animal Crossing, I just said, I have to buy N3DS! :D I bought Nintendo Wii 3 years ago i think just because of Animal Crossing City Folk and when I was nine I bought NDS Lite just because of Animal Crossing Wild World :D Im 16 today and I cant stop playin and enjoyin this game. Hope it will be really released on September 28:) Im waiting for looong time. By the way, tomorrow Im goin to buy N3DS! :D
