@Ttimer Actually Tetsuya Nomura has said that Kingdom Hearts 3 will make the end of the Xehanort saga but the series will still continue with Sora as the main character.

Its a dream world, so anything/anybody is in their dreams. But there’s also a hint that once somebody’s heartless and nobody die, they come back to life.
You’re missing a couple of possible points. They could be revealing memories or plotlines from the past that we would have no way of knowing (some other trailers I think may suggest that: how the organization came to be).
IMO, I think the “original form” returning into existance after both nobody and heartless are destroyed may only apply to Xehanort due to darkness or untold reasons (Just a feeling). If it was true for everyone, they could’ve brought back a ton of other possible characters.
Otherwise, yes, I agree on both accounts.
Actually, for the secret ending of re:coded(from what I understood anyway)when a nobody and heartless from the same person is destroyed, the original someone they use to be will come back(hence Braig, Lea, ect)
Meaning Roxas will come back, but he will refer to himself as “Ventus”

I understand your point, RIVER, but you may be mixed up.
Ventus never actually became a heartless or nobody. Vanitas was created from the darkness from his heart, he is a seperate being, and isn’t neccessarily Ventus (not like becoming a heartless like Sora or Tera-nort did). Roxas, is Sora’s nobody but takes the form of Ventus because Sora is the keepholder of Ventus’s heart. Ventus’s body exists in Castle Oblivion waiting for the return of his heart. So Ventus will come back (and probably Terra by the looks of it), but “Roxas” never really was a person (he is a “doomed hero”). Nobodies (like they’ve described) are empty shells that replicate the personas of their past lives and imitate, but cannot feel emotion. I still stand by my opinion where everyone can’t return.
So… overly… complicated… but makes sense!
That’s not Axel, that’s Lea, Axel’s original self. When Axel died in KH2, and his Heartless was also defeated somewhere along the way, he returned as to his initial being before he succumbed to darkness and split into a Heartless and Nobody in the first place. Heck, there’s even a scene in there that shows when Lea wakes up and realizes that he’s back to normal. The facial markings he had on his cheeks when he was a Nobody are gone now too.
@RIVER: No, Roxas won’t come back – he’s Sora’s Nobody and he refused back with him in KH2, so he’s where he’s supposed to be. Ventus is another character who looks similar to Roxas but is a totally different person.
@Bryan That’s not a hint, that’s a fact (In the KH series). Axel IS back to human form. The game takes place in both the dream worlds and real worlds.
Naw, this is what I’m saying.
In the first KH’s, Sora released his heart to release kari’s heart(and the others) when he did that, he also released Ventus’s heart along with it, so Ventus’s heart took over Sora’s empty shell, which is he looks like Ven.
When Ven comes back, he’ll have the memories of Roxas, which also means Lea will have his memories when he was known as Axel.
when axel and his heartless died, he came back as Lea plus he wakes up in the real world, it shows him talking to Yen Sid

It looks like they are actually bringing together a lot of the loose ends, this game is supposed to lead straight into 3 so expect it to have explanations for a lot of things that previously just left us scratching our heads, and a lot more of those things to pop up…

guys, quick question, i haven’t watched the trailer yet, i want to but i don’t want major spoilers, should i stay away or is there no danger?? o.o
Well, sections 3:50 to 6:05 only show gameplay footage and 0:40 through 1:30 just shows previous titles (you know the animated intros to each installment), but the rest of it shows cutscenes from the game.
It’s not like you’re going to understand it or anything, but if you really don’t want to see any of the “story” itself (even if it’s in japanese) then just watch the gameplay. I will say if you do watch the rest of it, it will probably confuse and intrigue you.

It HAS been confirmed for a North American release – and a European one too. The release dates of the game in those regions just haven’t been revealed yet.

The game will have multiplayer, but it won’t be like Days or BBS. It’ll just be local multiplayer where you can battle others’ Dream Eaters with your own to level them up for the main story mode, like Pokemon. Should still be fun though.
The TWEWY characters are only going to be in the Traverse Town world, and I’m sure at least Neku will be an assist character of sorts, but the rest will likely be only in cutscenes.
They said if you beat the game on multiplayer mode you get a secret ending soooooo, yeah there is multiplayer.

The song in japanese is called “Passion”, the english dub is called “Sanctuary”, this song was used for 358/2 Days and KH2. What Roxic is referring to is the instrumental that plays in the latter half.

of course there was a flash of the front with the dream eater symbol over the mask…
Seeing as this is the dream world, and ven is sleeping it can easily be Ventus in his armor.. (I mean Riku got a dream eater symbol on his back, ventus can get one on his back)
Or Sora is using ventus’ armor somehow…
of course it could be a lingering will like terra… or something completely different…

The last 3 games used Hikaru/Simple and Clean. The last game that used Passion/Sanctuary was 358/2 Days (2009). Utada had said a couple years ago that she wasn’t working on new songs forr the KH series anymore. It was related to Disney not paying her enough money.
When nomura said that the game would have a shocking ending, i really hope he meant by sora giving in and joining xheanort.

Soooo, just a question. This game looks really good and I’ve wanted it really, really bad from day 1, but it just occured to me that I haven’t played ANY of the other games in this franchise. How big of a problem will this be if at all?
if you care about understanding whats going on, then its a big problem, and its a lot more epic if you know who these ppl are and the relationship they all have with each other. the game still looks fun tho, from what i can tell
If you’re just in it for the gameplay, I think you’ll be okay. You might want to at least hit the wikis if you want to know the plot. However, the easiest way, if more expensive, is to get the games and play them (it makes remembering characters waaaay easier). If you go that route, definitely get at least KH 1 and 2, and, depending on the consoles you own (and how much money you want to spend), Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days and Birth by Sleep. Those hit most of the plot points that it looks like will be addressed in KH3D.

He’s also (slightly less) visible during the scene with Riku and Mickey in the Organization’s conference room. He’s the reason Mickey was jumping upwards.

Hooray, welcome to the fanbase! But alas, the main characters in BBS are not the true main characters. That game was a prequel to the entire series. In that game, when each of them make a visit to destiny island and see those two little boys, those are the main characters (ten years later, but yes).
Master Xehanort is a “true” main character in the prequel, as well as the entire series’ saga. And you may want to rephrase that last statement. It sounds like you’re saying Sora and Riku were the main characters before they were born.
