We have a gallery full of new screenshots from Super Mario 3D Land that give us a look at a variety of places in the game. You can check for those after the break.

  • Wendel Rebel

The 8th image reminds me of the artwork form Super Mario Bros 3.

    • Mike

      yeah, it looks so retro

    • Matthew

Well. Not really, almost all Mario artwork is similar.

    • Frank Lin (@FrankLegend21)

no it reminds me more of Super Princess Peach

  • Tman23

This game looks so amazing! I can’t wait, hurry up november!

Yeah, it is a horrible misquote, but I only seen the movie once many many years ago.

  • Bram

Sorry for my bad English, but I would like to let you know my opinion…

Look at those last screenshots! Is that an 8-bit mario on the touchscreen?! Well, my opinion: I think that this game is gonna be great! It has de best elements from alot of Mario games we’ve seen so far.

Like shooting out of a canon reminds me of Mario 64. I liked that game.

The puzzles in the levels are taken from the Mario Galaxy games.

And of course besides 3d, it’s also a 2d-platformer as we know from the regular Mario Bros-series.

But all these elements in one game have to fit perfectly. I think Nintendo did a great job and succeed in that. However, the 8-bit Mario as we seen on that touch-screen just feels not right. It doesn’t fit with the overall art of the game. Looks terrible!

Hope some people share my thoughts.

    • http://www.yahoo.com GameManiac

My opinion is that it’s a hybrid of both 2D and 3D Mario platforming.

    • http://nintendo3dsblog.com/photos-of-a-kid-icarus-uprising-float-in-japan Kaizar

Yeah…..but it’s in the touch screen, which doesn’t matter that much.

He’ll it’s only 8-bit for a few seconds, going from the one level to the next level.

      So no harm no faul.

      SHABLAGOO!

^Hell (correction, damn you spell check.)

    • Xarreno

      Don’t forget the other references.

World 1-1, warp zone, and flag pole (SMB)
Tanooki suit and airships (SMB 3)
Follow appearing coin line and ghost house (SM World)
Coin purse and cannon (SM 64)
      Tightrope jumping (SM Sunshine)
      Red coin rings (New SMB)
      Follow music notes (SM Galaxy)
      Zelda stage (LoZ)

I wonder if there will be any others? Like vegetable pulling or secret world potions from SMB 2? Can’t Wait!

    • superstarxalien169

Aside from the fact that Super Mario Bros. World 1-1 Level is coming back.

    • me

ITS ON THE TOUCH SCREEN FOR GODS SAKE AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT ALSO THAT HE ONLY APPEARS WHEN YOUR SWITCHING LEVELS @Bram you are a VERY picky person if you think that little Mario is ruining the experience

    • Xarreno

Oh, it also looks like they brought back the big/giant/huge world. You know, where Mario is tiny and everything else is enormous (goombas, blocks, and such).

Which also originated in SMB 3. There’s a lot of love for that game it looks like. :)

    • silverio

i think its awsome! its like a shout out to all the old mario games! :D

    • Xarreno

Hey, I just thought of one other thing. Since crouching is back do you think they’ll keep the function where you can fall behind (or in? for this case) the white blocks when you crouch for 5 secs.

  • http://www.mrepicness.webs.com Mr.Epicness

    Wow this is awesome!!!!!!!

  • Majora’s Incarnation

    Yeah! Hurry up, November!

  • Daviz

I need this game it looks amazing!

  • Han Solo

Looks like it could be one of the best Mario games in my opinion.

    • http://nintendo3dsblog.com/photos-of-a-kid-icarus-uprising-float-in-japan Kaizar

It will be one of the top 4 or 3 or 2 or 1.

      SHABLAGOO!

  • Camcool

    AWSOMMMMMMMMMMME!

  • rizzi

    This is torture!! Hurry Nov!

    • Free of Birth

Took the words right out of my mouth

  • Mike

I knew it, i knew something like Bronze Stars would be received if you use the help items. Look at picture 18, Mario appears to only pull the flag down half way if you use a help item, rather than all the way down.

    • Xarreno

I see what you “see” thar. Wonder if it makes a difference?

    • http://nintendo3dsblog.com/photos-of-a-kid-icarus-uprising-float-in-japan Kaizar

But, I saw how you can run around at the end of the level to go up on the stairs to than jump.

Plus you might as well go more backwards than that on the level to check things out with all that free Time you have on your hands until the clock is around half way done; and than you want to rush like the wind, back.

But I’m never gonna use the P-Wing.

And I’m only going to intentionally get the White Tanooki Suit out just once only; so I can try it out, even doe I can than just fall to my death, but so can regular Suoer Mario.

Does anyone know if Mario is an Italian name in real life?

      SHABLAGOO!

    • Majora’s Incarnation

Mario is a real name. lol. My friend’s name is Mario.

    • http://nintendo3dsblog.com/photos-of-a-kid-icarus-uprising-float-in-japan Kaizar

      I know it’s a real name.

I just want to know if it is an Italian name in real life.

      But thanks Majora’s Icarnation.

Love the name and hope they port it.

      SHABLAGOO!

  • Castle

    Looks amazing!

Super Mario 3DS Land coming to be awesome

  • Xarreno

WoooooHOOOOOOOO!!! November just can’t come soon enough! I can’t wait to see how complicated the ghost mansions are in 3D, it looks like they may be as callenging as ever.

Now we just need a bit of gameplay to go along with some of these new screenshots.

  • Zack

Looks great. the only thing that I don’t like is the bottom screen… It looks so plain. Like it’s only a demo or something. They couldn’t have put a map on the bottom, or even a different background with some more color to it?

    • http://nintendo3dsblog.com/photos-of-a-kid-icarus-uprising-float-in-japan Kaizar

But that allows them to put better graphics than the Wii on the top screen, as Capcom has said about Resident Evil: Revelations compare to Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.

Because in the touch screen of RE: M they couldn’t make the graphics no where as near as good as RE: R which doesn’t take much of the GPU on the Touch Screen.

So RE: R has way more better graphics than RE: M because this time the touch screen isn’t using up that much of the 3DS abilities.

So i hope that explains why come the touch screen for SM3DL is the way it is.

And I think they did a good job without using up the GPU of the 3DS.

      SHABLAGOO!

    • http://nintendo3dsblog.com/photos-of-a-kid-icarus-uprising-float-in-japan Kaizar

And a map would make it more easier than it needs to be.

      SHABLAGOO!

    • http://nintendo3dsblog.com/photos-of-a-kid-icarus-uprising-float-in-japan Kaizar

But I do agree with you on a different background with more color to it.

But at least the Touch Screen isn’t gonna use our eye focus enough for this be a problem for people like me.

      SHABLAGOO!

    • Szayel

      @ Kaizar.
WHAT? The reason resident evil mercs doesn’t have as good graphics as revelations is because of the amount of enemies at one time. NOT because of the touchscreen. Learn to read.

    • http://nintendo3dsblog.com/photos-of-a-kid-icarus-uprising-float-in-japan Kaizar

But Capcom said it was also because of the Touch Screen and that’s what Capcom Literally said.

And that’s what David Literally posted on this site.

    -_- picture #22

    • Xarreno

In #23, it looks like they may be deadlier than Whomps, now that they look like they have the ability to jump.

  • Angelo

So the leaves even have a part in the plot itself! It DID look pretty strange how they put tanuki tails on everything.
This game is really charming and very Mario-esque.

  • Connor Russell

    awesome..enough said.

  • shadow

As much as i like to know more i actually dont want to see all the movies and pictures since it reveals all the fun surprises. I rather be wowed when i play :D
This game seems to be packed with new contents. Looking forward to playing it.

  • Matthew

I want a demo on the eshop!

  • 1-up Dude

thats alot of pics O_O,no dout its t ha best mario game ever :D

  • FlyGuy95

castle whomp just wants is to play… *squish*

I was a bit worried that there would only be like 4 levels per world, but thankfully those screenshots disprove that. I wonder if there will be alternate exits and alternate paths in the later worlds?

    • I Think Too Much

I thought the same thing. I’m glad I was proven wrong though.

  • http://..... luisj96

    lol omg

  • MegaManiac321

I just saw the new trailer for this game! I’m really looking foward to the release of the game. I gotta go pre-order this game so i can get that keychain! :D

  • I Think Too Much

Does the mushroom on 64, 65, and 67 mean there are toad houses?

  • asapisaiah

Mario Galaxy meets Mario 64 meets Mario Bros.!

  • 1998

has anyone else noted the arrows on the touch screen when you are playing a level
like in the 2nd to last photo

    • Mike

they’re more than likely used to switch between items inside the circle, which i assume is some kind of inventory.

    • Calztchi

They’re actually to change the camera angle a bit. I played the demo at the Nintendo Connection Tour. (Minds were blown.)

    • Mike

The D-Pad should have controlled the camera just like in Galaxy 1 & 2, it would have given the D-Pad some use cause so far i haven’t used it for a game ONCE since i got the system in July. The circle pad is just in such a more comfortable position, plus easier to use. The D-Pad should just be removed in any future remodel. The power button can be placed on the bottom left like the DSi, while the second circle pad would be on the bottom right. Just my 2 cents.

  • J. Severe

    Whoa… O_O

    So… many… pictures…

    I WANT THIS GAME NOWZ!

  • Kevin11

I never got to see ALL screenshots!

  • timur

why does literally everything have a tanooki tail in this game? like literally the goombas, bowser, bullet bills and even boos.. hah why is tanooki so dang important.

    • SuperDuperDrew

In one cutscene a tree has a tanooki tail! LOL

  • me

i think i get it! this could almost be called:
    New Super Mario 3D
