Capcom has revealed that the main character in E.X. Troopers, Bren Turner, is on his way to the Academy on Planet EDN-3rd when a group of Vital Suits attack the transport ship he’s on. Bren, together with his instructor, fight off the attacking Vital Suits and crash land on the planet. The game itself will be shown at the Capcom Summer Jam event in Japan, so we should hear more details soon. There are screenshots after the break.

    • ygor leal

between 30th june and 1th july

  • Michael A

I just want to know if these are 3DS screenshots or ps3 screenshots or a mixed bag of both.

The last 2 look so good and the first two look not so great.

    • Belinni

I assume the first 2 are the 3DS version. Regardless the game looks good in my opinion even if it’s a bit blocky compared to the PS3 version.

I’d like to see a bit more of the story and gameplay for both versions before making a verdict on the game itself.

    • Sept

      I believe it’s a mixed bag.

    • Max

      It’s 3ds 100%

    • T.B.G.E

there all 3DS screen shots because i found the ps3 screen shots and the art style is a bit different and the graphics are obviously better but the trailer that came out for this game is from the 3DS version.

  • the psvita is better

wait, was that the trailer shown a long time ago the 3ds version or the ps3 version?
i always thought it was the ps3 version

    • The Un-informed gamer

      It was the PS3 version.

    • ultimatedude1000

      it was the 3ds version

  • Belinni

As cool as the game looks so far does anyone prefer the old style over this one? It doesn’t bother me that they changed it but it seems a little extreme compared to the old “realistic” look they were going for.

I’m kinda hoping they’ll make this game even more different than Lost Planet aside from the style itself.

    • Tails the Foxhound

It is a little jarring, yeah. I prefer this style to the realistic one (’cause I’m a nerd) but it’s still strange that they made the decision to completely abandon the old aesthetic. I also agree on the play syle, I got bored of Lost Planet (Colonies Edition, FYI) pretty early in the game.

  • mangaka

i just the 3ds version is good, if not, im getting the ps3 version, win win

    • Enzo

It doesn’t seem like the 3DS should have much trouble playing the game.

  • Lockjaw

I’m pretty sure this game was made from the remnants of Mega Man Legends 3.

    • nin3dspro

remmants?, don’t give up, there’s still chance.

sorry david, you lost me at capcom XD

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/darkgamer001 darkgamer001

^THIS. If this game is any good, I’ll just buy a second hand copy. I’m not giving Capcom any of my money…

    • Enzo

To be honest, I think that’s kind of stupid logic.

    • gamer272

no it killing crapcom (capcom ad a c to it and its crapcom)

    • Belinni

So basically you guys want Capcom games but you don’t want Capcom. So you try to hurt them by not buying their games first hand, not funding them and then killing the very company you want games from (megaman, resident evil, okami, etc).

Please never become game designers. Actually it doesn’t matter, I’m pretty sure the ammount of people who already realized what I’ve mentioned above and would gladly give the hard working game designers at Capcom the money they deserve for making a brand new experience for us outnumber you children.

    • Tails the Foxhound

      @Enzo
I don’t think so. As consumers, the only voice we have towards companies is our money. If you dislike a product or a company you let them know by denying them money.

      @009soulmaster & darkgamer001
It is however almost counter productive to buy it used. Capcom gets no money, but I’m sure Capcom has access to the numbers for their games’ used sales. If you don’t like Capcom, you shouldn’t buy their games at all. Borrow them from someone or something.

    • Enzo

It is stupid because if you want to take that kind of logic on things, you should stop buying Microsoft products, Apple products, 99% of our food supply, and more. Boycotting a company because of an error of an individual or because they made an unpopular decision is really stupid. Boycotts should be reserved for things like stopping companies from abusing labor or using certain questionable items in their products. Boycotting a company because one person said something or a few products you personally didn’t like is immature. Capcom makes plenty of good games, and makes plenty of good decisions, and people keep saying all these bad things about them but so far the only things I see that are apparently wrong they did were cancelling Mega Man Legends 3, Not announcing whether or not they will localize Monster Hunter Tri G, and misspelling Revelations on the spine of a whole first shipment of RE: Revelations copies. Then there’s the part where people say Capcom (as a company, not an individual working there) blames their customers for their mistakes. I read the tweet and people are getting way too butthurt over a poor choice of words of an individual who runs the capcom twitter.

    • Tails the Foxhound

Your story seems to have been twisted up by the more overzealous of the Capcom haters. It’s not about MH’s (or AAI’s) lack of localization, those thing happen, it’s not about a few silly selling errors. It’s mostly about their anti-consumer, and frankly underhanded, DLC pricing and practices. Most of the DLC for nearly every Capcom game of this generation was actually on the disc, finished, simply locked away by a code. They hold back characters so that they can release a Super or an Ultimate version only to release an Arcade edition later. By the way, your previous version is worthless now (except in the case of SSF4-SSF4A, and SF4-SSF4A PC), have fun with that. Also any person in the company blaming the fans is a problem, especially when fans LITERALLY did the work designing characters and what not. The fact that no one in the company felt the need to apologize made it even worse. They have been systematically been abandoning what made their fans their fans in the first place, with their rampant westernization of their series with no regard to quality. Operation Raccoon City says hello. They cancelled 3 Megamans, 2 far along in development because they are out of touch with their fans. They work even their top employees into the hospital just to churn out more of the same crap every year, forcing the resignation of chief staff.

Capcom has been breeding hatred from gamers since about 2005(?) when they closed Clover. They’ve made very sloppy business decisions since. This backlash is only normal, as it’s been a long time coming.

As far as boycotts go, just because X company is worse than Y doesn’t mean Y isn’t bad. Dog shit is smaller than elephant shit, but it’s still shit. Just do what you can about what you can, can’t really expect them to take on the whole world right?

  • Kape

    Really looking forward to this.

  • Iron Catastrofe

    looks interesting

  • Maka-Chan

    WANT SO BADLY!!!

    • gamer272

      a so so for me

  • Lockjaw

Fortunately for Capcom, I really like Lost Planet, so I’ll probably end up getting this if it’s localized.
